For he satisfies the longing soul. He fills the hungry soul with good' Psalms 107:9 WEB
There are so many things in this life that promise, or would appear to offer satisfaction, but they all fall far short of truly satisfying you inside. Temporary pleasures offer temporary satisfaction, and often with repercussions.
Buying something new is satisfying, but then you have to pay for it. You can eat a good meal, but soon you will be hungry again. Sex is good by nature, but with the wrong one disastrous, either way you are soon empty again.
You can marry the most wonderful person on earth, but if you live long enough you will be alone again. There is no lasting satisfaction, outside of Jesus.
Jesus can satisfy your deepest innermost need and fill that empty spot where something has been missing, with something that will last for eternity and can never be taken away.
I have found that the closer that I can walk with God, the more satisfying my life is. And when I start to become distanced, I become unhappy. I am astounded by the love that He has for us and how perfect His plans come together in our lives when we make Him a part of it.
God has a plan for each of us. He can fill the empty places in our lives. If we have need of something, He can bring it about. When you get lost in Him, He gives you the desires of your heart. He is better than we can imagine, and if we will only put Him first in our life, the rest will fall into place.
Prayer: Father I thank You for all that You do for me. Fill the empty places in my life and reshape my desires. Teach me to live and walk in Your presence every day. I want more of You in my life today, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.
Note: Happy Christmas week! We are overjoyed to be celebrating the birth of our Savior with our family here at RHM <3 <3 <3! As we celebrate the season, our groups are honoring the Christ in their own special way. The Creation Photographers theme of the week is Christmas, where we can post photos of what Christmas means to us, and memories of the season (you can always post other pics, as well). Celebrate the fun and humor of the advent season with the FAAD group topic: "Advent: Thank God for Bologna and Coke!" and join in the weekly chat session! The Haven of Hope is ministering to people who are dealing with the stress of the holidays with the "Boundaries for the Holidays" topic. It is also a great time to check out our other groups for holiday cooking ideas, Christmas crafts, and more! Much love to all of you!!!
