Now after the death of Moses the servant of Yahweh, Yahweh spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses' servant, saying, 'Moses my servant is dead. Now therefore arise, go across this Jordan, you, and all these people, to the land which I am giving to them, even to the children of Israel. I have given you...

Fear Not from Refreshing Hope Ministries on Vimeo. Today I want to talk about fear, and the importance of pressing on even though we are afraid. When God calls you to do something, often fear is the first guardian that will be sent to stop you from accomplishing it. The Apostle Paul wrote to Timo...

But you, when you pray, enter into your inner room, and having shut your door, pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. In praying, don't use vain repetitions, as the Gentiles do; for they think that they will be heard for their much speaking. ...

Wonder If, God Allows It !

  • Wonder for a moment ,if God allows your newborn to die? Wonder for a moment, what if cancer was allowed to take your wife? Wonder if, God allowed your finances to crumble? Wonder if, God allowed your home to get caught in a tornado? What if, the snow storm was allowed to bury you? What if God allowed the Dericho to wipe out the power on your street but not on your neighbors?

If you can think of a situation, or have been through storms in your own life ,and your journey has taken you though the jungles of the Amazon, or walking through the sierra dessert, what if God allowed it.

    Jeremiah 1:5

Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

    Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the thoughts and  plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome.

Think about these above scriptures and let them sink in for minute: Before you were formed, GOD KNEW THEE, and HE knew the Thoughts and plans HE had for you. He knew what the journey before you would bring, HE knew what you would loose along the way. HE knew what choices would be before you , and what choices you would make. He knew what the storms of life would bring, and HE knew the cost you would incur on this path HE laid out for you. He knew your child would have Autism, HE knew what you would endure in caring for that child. He knew your child would get cancer and that he/she would endure for years before finally calling him/her home.

Please take a moment and read this first chapter of Job and see what you can see through these scriptures, then see how it can possible apply to your life.

1 There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil.

2 And there were born unto him seven sons and three daughters.

3 His substance also was seven thousand sheep, and three thousand camels, and five hundred yoke of oxen, and five hundred she asses, and a very great household; so that this man was the greatest of all the men of the east.

4 And his sons went and feasted in their houses, every one his day; and sent and called for their three sisters to eat and to drink with them.

5 And it was so, when the days of their feasting were gone about, that Job sent and sanctified them, and rose up early in the morning, and offered burnt offerings according to the number of them all: for Job said, It may be that my sons have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts. Thus did Job continually.

6 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan came also among them.

7 And the Lord said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the Lord, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.

8 And the Lord said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?

9 Then Satan answered the Lord, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought?

10 Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.

11 But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face.

12 And the Lord said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the Lord.

13 And there was a day when his sons and his daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother's house:

14 And there came a messenger unto Job, and said, The oxen were plowing, and the asses feeding beside them:

15 And the Sabeans fell upon them, and took them away; yea, they have slain the servants with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.

16 While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, The fire of God is fallen from heaven, and hath burned up the sheep, and the servants, and consumed them; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.

17 While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, The Chaldeans made out three bands, and fell upon the camels, and have carried them away, yea, and slain the servants with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.

18 While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, Thy sons and thy daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother's house:

19 And, behold, there came a great wind from the wilderness, and smote the four corners of the house, and it fell upon the young men, and they are dead; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.

20 Then Job arose, and rent his mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground, and worshipped,

21 And said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.

22 In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly.

In all that Job lost, he did not sin against God. How many times have we been so angry at God because of some catastrophic thing happening in our lives that we have given up on God? How many times have you known someone who has turned there back on God because they could not believe that God would do such a thing or let such a thing happen in there lives? Since we are not perfect, I’m thinking one or two of you reading this has questioned once or twice.

When my daughter got sick for the third time, she cried out to me and asked the question, why me mommy, why me? Out of my mouth came “Why Not You”? Let me tell you it cut like a knife to see my child so sick for so many years. But it was upon her first diagnosis of Leukemia at 4 that I sat in the quite of her hospital room as she slept, and I surrendered her on the Alter before the Lord. The story of Abraham and Isaac flooded into my mind . One month before she was diagnosed, she had excepted Jesus in Vacation Bible School . She barely knew the Lord, how could she trust him? I had only known the Lord for barely 4 years, and I held on to what I knew, and kept as close to HIM as I possibly could. All during her illness I was in my Bible. I would read to her, I would write cards for the walls with scripture, I would read the Bible deeply when she would go to bed at night when all you could hear where the beeps of her IV. My heart, my life, the life of my child I placed at the feet of Jesus, I was totally at HIS mercy. By the time the Lord took her home at the age of 14 she was a very strong Christian. She was always in her bible; she would get visiting preachers to sign her bible. She gleaned all she could from what she learned about the Lord while she was alive. One week before she died, I had taken a picture of her as she sat on a hotel room bed in California. On her shirt, was proverbs 3:5,6, or part of it “TRUST IN THE LORD”. The faith that grew for her grew for me. The love of the Lord for her, was the Love of the Lord for me. Our lives intertwined, always to be connected by the cross, and a promise of eternity.

My marriage would crumble after the 7th year of her passing. Our son would be abandoned by his father. My son and I would journey back to my homeland, to start anew. In looking back, a generational curse was crushed and the Lord found HIS way into the life of my son and has totally changed his life forever. I have never asked Why. I know that God has a reason for all HE allows. As the years have passed, the unquestioned question to why, has been emerging. I can see some things that would not have come into place if we had not gone through what we went through, and going through these things, we become able to help others know they are not alone on there journey, and we can tell them that even through all they have been through, Jesus walked beside them then, and now. It is through the fires we are refined and changed into what God has already forseen and planned for us.

    John 16:33

these things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Jesus already states in the scripture above, before HIS death, In the world you shall have tribulation, trouble, troubles, death, heartache, loss of home, loss of marriage, etc. but HE also says, Be of good cheer, I HAVE OVERCOME THE WORLD !!

You can only understand this the longer you are on this journey. You can only apply it when you understand that God has a reason for all he allows. Could be for our growth, could be for the salvation of your family, could be anything that GOD sees from HIS throne for HIS Glory. We are all on a journey of growth; we are all a walking testimony of what troubles have come our way and how we react to them

We can inspire others even in the midst of heartache and never know it.

    Remember this:

    John 3:16

For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Remember, Jesus was murdered, HE was beaten, HE was whipped, HE was homeless, and HE went thorough all of that so that you might have the option, the choice to spend Eternity with HIM in heaven. He already knows who will except and who will not.

You owe HIM your love, your devotion, your life !

    John 15:16

Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

    1 Peter 4:12

Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you

We all have daily choices before us, continually the enemy will try our thoughts and try to persuade us to get off the path laid out before us. There is no reason for him not to attack you when you are in a lowly place, even at the death of your child. He has no heart for the things of God. He knows if he can deter you from the path of the Lord, then you will be unsuccessful in fulfilling that which the Lord set out before you. He knows that if he can get you off the path, then the person down the road that the Lord set up already for you help, will not be helped by you because you would have been persuaded to get off that path. We all have choices, and our choices, if the wrong, have consequences of those choices. Although God will forgive a heart of true repentance, the consequences, or thoughts of that choice could be with you on a daily basis. Like a child out of the wrong choices.  But remember God can work out anything for HIS good.

    Romans 8:28

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose

    John 16:33

    Amplified Bible

I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.]

No matter what you face today, remember child of God, the Lord is with you, you do not walk alone in this world. You are not free from troubles! If Jesus was not free from troubles, then you can expect that at some point there are things you will face that will be crushing in your life. It is all how you handle it, all whom you trust to get you through that time, it is a trusting, growing process that GOD will get the glory out of. We serve such a living, loving God whom would go through all HE did for the chance to win our love for HIM. The choice is left up to you whom you will serve. Through good times and bad, what choice will you make?

    Joshua 24:15

And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.

What ever GOD allows in my life, I will cling to him for guidance, for mercy, for direction. I will cry to him, and will ask him to show me what I need to see. I will ask for help in my distress and sleepless nights. I will cry to him when the pain comes at night that I can barely bare and ask that HE put his strong hands on the place that hurts the most so that I can get some rest. He has a plan for my life, my eternity is secure, all my hope is in HIM.

My choice is made no matter what comes my way!

    Ephesians 2:10

For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live].

Some people, places and things are not meant to be in your life, and GOD has a way of weeding these things away from you. Some times we think why HE did not use so and so, but then we see HE uses the least of them to help you on your journey. Oh dear soul, HE LOVES YOU SO ! Come what may in your life, HE has a plan for you. Yesterday is gone, tomorrow is not promised, so serve HIM while you can today. Love HIM while you can today, and reach out to someone today with the Love HE placed in your heart.

    Proverbs 27:1

Do not boast about tomorrow, For you do not know what a day may bring forth

    Matthew 6:34

Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

There are 199 key word searches for “TROUBLE” on You will not escape it !

Jobs story goes on, God gets the GLORY, satan is defeated, Jobs life is restored !

It boggles my mind the things I do not yet know or understand, but my hope remains in HIM!

My story is not yet complete, neither is yours.

Be encouraged today- come what may GOD is closest to those whose hearts are broken !

Kay Rushin God has in all in control, when we fully let this settle in our soul and trust in him, we begin to find the peace that surpasses all understanding. We all struggle with the "why me" dilemma, God is molding us and letting things that we don't understand happen all the time. He sees the big picture. Let's face it, we are in a sinful world so it stands to reason that we will struggle with something. Focus on gratitude, be thankful for all that we do have. #1 A Savior that died for Us. When I feel a little whiny, I start naming all the things I do have, but take for granted. It's all a matter of perspective. I would rather have nothing, when I know I can be forever with God. Everything in this world is temporary, The Bible clearly states we do not belong to this world. We are just Spiritual beings having a human experience, and because of that it become hard somethings. Gratitude is an amazing thing that will get us pass it all.
