    In the fourth watch of the night, Jesus came to them, walking on the sea. When the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, "It's a ghost!" and they cried out for fear. But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying "Cheer up! I AM! Don't be afraid." Peter answered him and said...

    Anchor of the Soul from Refreshing Hope Ministries on Vimeo. When people lose hope, they lie down and die. They lose the will to live and fight any longer. Hopelessness is utter despair, the belief that nothing good will happen. When you begin to think like this, it will bring a desire to die. A ...

    The Pharisees and the scribes asked him, "Why don't your disciples walk according to the tradition of the elders, but eat their bread with unwashed hands?" He answered them, "Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honors me with their lips, But their heart is far f...

Body Building

  • For the body is not one member, but many. If the foot would say, 'Because I'm not the hand, I'm not part of the body,' it is not therefore not part of the body. If the ear would say, 'Because I'm not the eye, I'm not part of the body,' it's not therefore not part of the body. If the whole body were an eye, where would the hearing be? If the whole were hearing, where would the smelling be? 1 Corinthians 12:14 WEB

    The human body is made up of many parts, and each part is made up of many cells, and each cell is made of even smaller parts like chromosomes. All of it works together to make a healthy body, and every part has its own job. It's quite an amazing structure.

    The heart pumps blood while the lungs pump oxygen. In their own thoughts, their job is the most important part of their existence. Different parts will never agree on which job is actually most important, because it is certainly theirs. The fact is, they are both right. We need both the heart and lungs for the body to live.

    Many times in our walk with Jesus, we will meet other Christians that just simply don't think like we do. One is deep into politics, another is into mission work, yet another is involved in something else entirely, but it takes all of this to make the body of Christ work.

    When we attend our local church, the welcome team greets us at the door, people work at the coffee counter, in the children's church, in the nursery, in the praise team, some run the sound, lighting, projectors, recordings, cameras, another speaks a message, others are on the prayer team. It takes everyone working together to build a healthy community.

    As Paul told us, we are all a part of the body of Christ and one part is not more important than another. There is no top or bottom in God's eyes, as we are all His children. Jesus told us that the greatest among you, will be your servant (Mark 10:43, Matthew 23:11). Wherever you find yourself, work like you are working directly for God and you will be rewarded (Colossians 3:23).

    Do not get sidetracked by others that will try and turn you back from following your own calling in this life, and to follow theirs. People will live your life for you if you let them. They are another part of the body and they cannot do the job that God created for you, nor will they understand your desire to do so. Neither can you be satisfied doing what they are called to do. Each of us are unique in our gifts and our calling in life.

    Find what you are passionate about, that seems to come naturally, and follow it. Don't strive to be like someone else. Serve your heart out wherever you are and God will raise you up in due time. If you are washing dishes, be the best dish washer the world has ever seen and God will make you the manager.

    Prayer: Heavenly Father, please put me where I need to be and help me to recognize the gifts that You have placed in my life. Stir me up and wake me up. Guide me onto the path that You have laid out for me and make it so clear that I know that it can only be You, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

The church as a whole needs this message, right now the body is as devided as the United States is devided. One day God is going to step back into this world and so many will be surprised to find they are not where they should be! Heavenly Father, let those who are a part of Refreshing Hope follow you and be where we are suposed to be!

God had a plan when He created each one of us, and no one else could have made us the way God did. Every part of our body has to work together to live. I am so glad that God has a purpose for me on this earth.

Love this!! Still working out where God wants me know that what I love and was good at has been taken away. Praying this job I applied for is a step on the right path. Praying He shows me a way to finance going to school online to get trained in this field (veterinary technician) I know He will if it is the right path.

Psalm 139:14-16New International Version (NIV)

14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
    your works are wonderful,
    I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you
    when I was made in the secret place,
    when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my unformed body;
    all the days ordained for me were written in your book
    before one of them came to be.

One of my favorite verses in the Bible. We were already there with HIM before even we were born.  HE alone knows what, who and where we will be in our life.  We praise and give you thanks our LORD GOD ALMIGHTY for the gift of of life for when we awake we are still with you.
