He began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests, and the scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again. He spoke to them openly. Peter took him, and began to rebuke him. But he, turning around, and seeing his disciples, rebuked Peter, and said, "Get behind me, Satan! For you have in mind not the things of God, but the things of men." Mark 8:31-33 WEB.
"Oh, look at you! You did it again... you should just give up." These thoughts often play in our minds. It's a distraction sent by the enemy to try and break your focus on the Lord. To get you off course and to stop trying.
When Peter's words no longer lined up with the will of the Father, Jesus turned His back to him and put him behind Him. When satan tried Jesus in the wilderness, Jesus told him, "Get behind me, satan." Jesus focused on the present will of God and put what didn't agree with it behind Him.
Formula One race car drivers are trained to focus on where they want to go and not get distracted by the things around them. They are moving so fast that even a slight distraction could be fatal. Part of their training is not to follow the car in front of them. If that driver went into a curve too fast, they would follow it and crash as well. Also, they would never pass it.
Each driver runs their own race, and if they spend their time looking behind them, they will never be able to finish it. It takes complete focus on the goal to be successful. They learn to ignore all the noise around them. If they make a mistake, they recover as quickly as possible, get back in the race, and concentrate on the road ahead. Paul ran his race like this (1 Corinthians 9:24).
So don't become distracted by looking to the left or right, and give no attention to the past. Let what's behind you stay behind you. Focus on the future that God has for you, and stop listening to the voices that want you to fail. Stop comparing yourself to others, for you are only responsible for the talents given to you. The devil doesn't want you to win this. The only way you will come out on top is by focusing on God and tuning out the distractions around you. So stop looking behind you, and focus on the road ahead.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, please help me focus on what matters. Give me a clear vision of what You have in store for me. Guide me and bring my desires in line with Yours today. In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen!

Awesome message Pastor. My ex now has 29 days to get out of my house. Shes been paid and still threatening me with childish things. Satan is trying his hardest to break me. I am keeping focused straight ahead and trusting God and his will for me. Toughest year ive ever faced. Lost my Dog and my wife and yet Satan still wants more. Keep praying for me as youve done for the last 8 months. I certainly cant do it alone. God bless us all and keep us focused

Debi, praying that you sleep peacefully tonight. I am trusting God with you for your healing as well as for the person doing biopsy procedure at hospital. Ephesians 3:20 Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according the power at work within us.

Hello Debi , may God grant you healing and guide the professionals who assist you to do everything accordingly.
“I will lie down and sleep in peace, for You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.” – Psalm 4, verse 8
✨ Before you close your eyes tonight... breathe deep and remember:
✅ God has been with you all day
✅ He’s still with you now
✅ And He will be with you through the night
💡 You don’t need to carry what’s too heavy.
You don’t need to solve what’s beyond your reach.
You simply need to rest in the arms of the One who never sleeps.
🙌 Whether your heart feels weary, overwhelmed, or quietly grateful—bring it all to Jesus tonight. He understands. He listens. And He gives rest that no pillow can offer.
🙏 Let’s end the day with peace—not because everything is perfect, but because He is present.
💬 If this prayer has spoken to your heart, type ‘Amen’ in the comments as a sign of faith. May the Lord bless you and keep you always. 🙏
“Count Your Blessings” is a very memorable hymn, with each verse beginning with a challenge and ending with the fact that no matter what happens, if we count our blessings, we’ll be “surprised,” “singing,” “rewarded,” and “comforted.” The chorus also repeats the same phrase twice with a different melody and adds the word “many” before the word “blessings” the second time. The repetition of counting our “many” blessings is a great reminder to “always [return] thanks unto God for whatsoever things ye do receive”
https://pin.it/7qTEnDmAm trying to get to a point on this Tuesday night where I can go to sleep! Been awake since 4 or 4:30 a.m. and now it is almost 11 a,n, Long story as last week is going into this week God's got this, and He is with me!
the last 2 days, I have worn my patch to stop a habit that needs breaking. so far, so good. I have 10 more left...these are the strongest. There are 2 other steps that are not as strong. I may need to order step 2...we will see how the next 10 days will good.
I have focused on positive coping skills yesterday and today. Most of those skills include spiritual well-being. Mentally and emotionally, I am holding up. Physically, we will be weighed Monday on Labor Day.
Tonight, I took my Bible and a book to the patio with me. I prayed. I read Proverbs 31. I read a chapter in the other book. It was breezy and cool. We have a weekly forecast with the temps in the 80's instead of 90's...so, so glad!!! I came back in and finished my prayer. Now, here I am sharing my testimony!
Dear Heavenly Father, please help me focus on what matters. Give me a clear vision of what You have in store for me. Please guide me and bring my desires in line with Yours today and always! In the name of Jesus Christ I pray, AMEN! As for me and my house we shall serve You, Lord, this is my utmost and innermost desire and prayer, as I put my trust in You, oh Lord, as You direct my path! 🙏
