What has been Revealed to Me from Jim Jarrell on Vimeo.
Over the last four weeks, I have talked about being called to a country church. I have put a lot of time into showing you that when God calls you to something, He has no problem making sure that you understand. Please know that I am not talking about getting saved here, no, I am talking about going beyond Salvation. The Bible says in Romans 10:8&9; “But what does it say? The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart. {that is the word of faith which we preach}; that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” This is a truth that can not be taken away from you.
What I am trying to say is there is so much more available to you than just salvation. Most religious teachers seem to think that by getting people saved and seeing their churches grow larger, they are building the kingdom of God. But, Jesus said in Luke 17:20&21; “Now when He was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, He answered and said; The kingdom of God does not come with observation; nor will they say, See here or see there! For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you.” Now, I ask you how can both of these things be correct? What has been revealed to me, is that Jesus knew exactly what He was saying. I believe this is why we see so many needs going unmet in most churches.
This is why you see me spend so much time quoting Matthew 6:33 which says: “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” If we believe the Bible is true, then maybe we should spend some time figuring out what this verse means.
I can hear so many of you saying, how did God reveal this to him? As I have said before, when I first heard this verse taught, I had nothing. I had a job, but, my life was miserable. I had three children, but I hated being at home, where I could spend time with them. When I looked at my life, there was not much I could say good about it. In the preceding verses, it seemed that God was saying that I should have all of these things, but, I did not see them in my life. I had received Jesus, but my life was so out of balance. That is when I decided to seek understanding, and in time, I did.
The Bible talks a lot about gaining understanding. The Apostle Paul wrote in Ephesians 1:17-19; “That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened, that you may know the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power.” God really does want us to know, but it is His power, and He will reveal it in His own way.
After making the decision to seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, I started to find balance coming back into my life. It did not happen overnight, but I have reached a point in my life, where I find peace. A good relationship has been developed with all my children. My wife and I just celebrated our 18th anniversary and I truly enjoy being at home and in her presence. We are totally debt free, even our home is paid for, and there is enough money in our bank account to pay our bills. I have experienced the power of God’s healing in my own body, and I have seen it also happen in other people. I am so glad I made this decision, now if I can teach others to see the same results in their lives, we will be able to give God all the glory, because He made it all possible.
Pastor Owen Johnson has passed on into God’s eternal glory, but about three months before his passing he called me to the front of the church in order to prophecy, he said; “You think that God has put you on a shelf and forgot that you where there. That is not true, He is still training you. One day you will stand before others and demonstrate the kingdom of God in it’s fullness.” I hold on to that word with all of my heart, I truly believe that will happen one day. I do believe that in the fullness of the kingdom of God, one will be able to display His power. I am not sure what that will look like, but I am excited to see! I have said before, I have never met anyone quite like the Pastor. He taught me many things, two of them stand out to me.
First of all, he showed me that God’s supernatural is just as real today as it ever was. The Bible says in Isaiah 44:26; “Who confirms the word of His servant, and performs the counsel of His messengers.” If God really sends someone to speak, He will confirm their words with signs and wonders. The second thing this pastor did was confirm to me that the kingdom of God message I had learned was correct and my per-suite of this kingdom was not in vein.
I will speak on this subject again in the coming months. For now, enjoy the life God has so freely given you! No matter what anyone ever says, the kingdom of God will be an everlasting kingdom!
