Anchor of the Soul from Refreshing Hope Ministries on Vimeo. When people lose hope, they lie down and die. They lose the will to live and fight any longer. Hopelessness is utter despair, the belief that nothing good will happen. When you begin to think like this, it will bring a desire to die. A ...

The Pharisees and the scribes asked him, "Why don't your disciples walk according to the tradition of the elders, but eat their bread with unwashed hands?" He answered them, "Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honors me with their lips, But their heart is far f...

Who is this King of Glory?

  • He is a Savior that life spills out of every single moment. His eyes sparkle with such vitality and excitement. He has been anointed with the oil of joy and it literally drips from Him. His hearty laugh and delightful sense of humor are contagious. Here is a man with absolutely no insecurities. He has nothing to prove and nothing to hide. He is simply Himself all the time, the perfect expression of His Father. He can also weep as hard as He laughs. His heart can be broken … for us and because of us. Religion has painted up an entirely different picture of Him as extremely reserved and unmoved, never smiling or showing any emotion. Nothing could be further from the truth.

By far the most striking feature about the Lord is His eyes. Every time that His gaze met mine, everything else stood still. In His eyes is fiery, all-consuming love for me as if I was the only one on the planet and He had come just for me. Mercy, compassion, peace and love are the priceless jewels that shine in the depths of those eyes, irresistibly luring all who dare to gaze into them. Just one glance of His eyes is enough to captivate a heart forever. You can get lost in the depths of His love and peace. Regardless of your circumstances or how you feel about yourself, one glance of His eyes assures you that you are totally loved, wanted and accepted. It lets you know that you are home!

A wall of shimmering light appeared before me and I could clearly see Jesus standing on the other side. It was like looking at Him through a thin veil of sparkling blue water. There He stood, quietly smiling at me. Then He extended His hand through the veil. I took His hand and stepped through. I had stepped out of this realm and into His realm. I had stepped out of confusion and into a place of total peace and clarity. Out of the gray skies into a brilliant sunshine, only the light was radiating from Him. Beautiful, peaceful … one of those takes a deep breath moments!

There is a place of peace and rest so deep in God that the things in this world cannot overwhelm us.The darkness and difficulties of this realm simply have no power over the reality of His realm. Our King of Glory is never in a hurry. After all, He created time and it submits to Him. In one split second, He can remove you from the cares and stress of this life and transfer you into His timeless realm of peace, showing you where reality truly lies. Showing you there is no reason to fear. You can enter deeply into His presence where He ministers peace and strength to you for the battle that still lies ahead. He is literally the calm before the storm.

Now for just a moment, I want you to just close your eyes and imagine this as he so clearly illustrated something to me this morning. Imagine the thunder rolling as heavy rain pounds the tin roof of a house where you are. A sharp lightning bolt knocks out the electricity. Lighting some candles, you begin to worship and the anointing increases. Suddenly Jesus comes and sweeps you away with Him … somewhere. It was evening and you appear to be in a small cottage in a forest. The roof was made of glass as you could still see the storm looming overhead. You could still hear the loud booms of thunder in the distance. Curiously, you watch as the rain beats down on the roof causing rivers of water to wash down the glass outside. The noise of the thunder was strangely muffled as if it was far away, even though the lightning was flashing all around. However, you are safely in the embrace of your Savior. There are no words to describe the contentment, the peace, the fulfillment or the deep, deep love. There are no feelings of anxiety upon you because there is nothing one could possibly be anxious about. There are no questions that you need to be answered. There are no frustrations, just overwhelming peace and love. After a long silence, He speaks softly to you.

“My Child, your whole life has been and still is a storm like this at times. But you must learn to come to Me in the midst of your storm and rest in My arms as you are doing now. As I am here with you, this is real, much more real than anything you encounter in the natural realm. The storm in your realm never really ceases. It may come and go! That is why you must learn to live with Me here and operate from My realm.”

Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle.Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah. ( Psalms 24:8-10).
