When he came down from the mountain, great multitudes followed him. Behold, a leper came to him and worshiped him, saying, "Lord, if you want to, you can make me clean." Jesus stretched out his hand, and touched him, saying, "I want to. Be made clean." Immediately his leprosy was cleansed. Matthew 8...

Then the devil took him into the holy city. He set him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to him, "If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, for it is written, 'He will command his angels concerning you,' and, 'On their hands they will bear you up, so that you don't dash your foot against...

Shout To The Lord

  • Sing to Yahweh a new song! Sing to Yahweh, all the earth. Sing to Yahweh! Bless his name! Proclaim his salvation from day to day! Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples. Psalms 96:1 WEB

I was still nervous as I took the microphone. At our church, the singers in our praise and worship team had failed to show up, and the rest elected me to lead them in praise that day. I did not want to, but I got somewhere quiet, prayed and I heard the Lord tell me this very clearly. It put me in tears and changed the way that I looked at singing praise from that day forth. He said:

'If one of your children came to you with tears in their eyes, and told you how much they loved you, and thanked you for all that you have done for them, would you care at that moment what their voice sounded like or if they pronounced every thing correctly? Would that be your focus? Or would your heart be glad and listen to what they said? Would you not be filled with joy and delight in them? Neither do I care what your voice sounds like. It is why you do it.'

David was a praiser and God loved him. Even Jesus and the disciples sang hymns together (Mark 14:26). The Lord does not care about what your voice sounds like. Lift up your voice and sing praises to Him and you will see great rewards in your life. Chains will be broken and depression will flee. It is not how, but why. There is something about parents that love to see their children sing and our Heavenly Father is no different. Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart (Psalm 37:4).

Prayer: Father, I thank You today and ask that You set me free from the fear of man. Let Your praise rise up inside of me and bubble over. I praise Your wonderful name and I am so thankful to know You, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

I need to remember this more. I am a worshiper, that's what I do but I used to without effort sing his praises night and day. Now I have to remember that peace I felt and joy I felt when me and my son (now 5yrs old) praise the Lord's name through song. I miss that!!

How I wish I could share the beautiful video of my 4 year old singing This little light of mine". She is a light to me and so many around us. Her Grandmother has alziemers in the early stages, and delights still in her presence and joy.  Her singing lifts my soul. Great analogy about our own singing in the eyes of our loving father.

I know that when I sing songs of worship to God I not only put a smile on his face but make him laugh too. He is probably thinking to himself  "my daughter, have you ever thought of taking singing lessons?" Thank you for this wonderful reminder that God loves our voices no matter what they sound like.

Praising songs are delight to our LORD GOD when we do them.  I do not do it everyday but once in a while I sing especially when I am listining to a praising song.

I love to praise and sing to the Lord! I try to walk several times a week depending on how I feel. I call it my "Walk n talk" with GOD. I do get some funny looks at cars passing by as I am rising my hands in the air shouting Halleluiah, but it doesn't bother me. I don't go to any church who doesn't believe in the freedom to express how I love to praise and worship. I had a choir director tell me once that it doesn't matter how we sing---Heaven is a long way up and that by the time GOD hears it, it sounds awesome. Have a blessed day to all.

How true this is!  I cannot carry a tune, but I LOVE to bellow out the words to the song as loud as I can to Our Heavenly Father while I'm in church!  It brings me oh so such inner joy!
