Haven't you known? Haven't you heard? The everlasting God, Yahweh, the Creator of the ends of the earth, doesn't faint. He isn't weary. His understanding is unsearchable. Isaiah 40:28 WEB.
It was a hot Saturday evening in the summer. I was exhausted and in a pretty bad mood by the time we got home. We had spent the whole day pulling some very aggravating network cables through the attic of our church. Then I came home to find an unexpected tax bill in the mailbox for five hundred dollars.
I read over the letter and angrily said, "If we had spent the time working in our business that we have spent working at the church over the last month, we would have the money to pay this." Then tossed the bill on the table. That sounds harsh, but I wasn't feeling very godly at the time.
When we went to church the following morning, one of the elders handed me an envelope. He said the church felt they should pay us something for all the work we had been doing recently. I knew before I opened it what was inside. It was a check for five hundred dollars. Without us mentioning the tax bill to anyone, God had told them the amount to give us and when we needed it.
God understands. You can be honest with Him. He knows what you are going through. The temper tantrums we throw don't matter in the light of eternity. He knows what you have bottled up inside and why you act the way you do. So don't give up when you stumble. Get up and try it again.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I trust that You will take care of me. You know my needs before I ask, and I know that you are a rewarder of those that seek You. Please be with me this day and work Your perfect will in my life. In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen!
