For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another. Psa. 75:6 KJV
During a time of revival in my own life, I fasted and prayed hard that the Lord would remove anything that was keeping me from being closer to Him. Within two weeks of praying this, I was laid off from my cushy foreman job and found myself on unemployment. When it looked like I could no longer pay the bills, I managed to get a job in a factory running a machine and sweeping the floor.
My salary went from $17 per hour to $6 and I came home black as smut every day. The boss never promoted anyone, and if you started in that position, you pretty much died there. Several people, including him, did not like me because I was 'different'. They partied all the time, came in with hangovers and then had to listen to the Bible all day from my cd player.
I did nothing special, but just tried to pray a lot, work hard and then it all happened so quickly. In three months, the foreman quit and I was promoted to his position with a raise. In six months the manager was fired and I was promoted to his position with another raise. The Bible played over the intercom all day.
Can you be promoted right where you are even if your boss hates you? Absolutely, the Lord may give you their job. Nothing on earth can hold you back from what God has for you, except you.
Prayer: Father, put me where you want me to be. Give me the promotions that you want me to have as I submit my will to You, in the name of Jesus.
Good timing for this devotional. There is a handful of us at work that have been having a real hard time coping with what goes on or doesn't at work. We all know that we need to continue to pray about it and seek Him out. The job in general is a nice job but it's the lack of participation by others that's the big problem. The leadership allows things to go on without saying a word. This in turn allows your good emloyees to become very frustrated and creates tension. We all are looking for guidance from Lord.
God never waste anything.
Yes, amen! I left a place much the same >>> nice place and people but owner let far to much go....praying for work to get less frustrating.
GOD sees you. It well be good soon.
I relate to this one. 20years in the same company, then God comes with the biggest surprice ever in my life. Apromotion which i never looked forward at. With a pay rise which i least expected. This one,no one but God worked it for me. I work for non-Christian organization where by some of the bosses will show it clearly that they don't like me. I thank God For His favor has never been less. Glory to His Holy Name

That one sentence is gold all by itself. We can be our own worst enemies at times.

Amen thanks pastor for doing the lords work, may God Bless you and your wife. Thank you Jesus!
Thank you so much for sharing, Pastor. I love that I work in a place that plays Christian music all day. I enjoy the constant reminder of the Lord, especially when things are really hectic or that I am in pain and having a bad day. I can also relate to some of the other responses about working with "What I call--The Lazy Generation." We have such a high turnover of kids who are so disrespectful...etc. They know not to be that way to me because I let it be known How much I love the Lord! I say that with a smile on my face..lol. Have a great day to all.
What a story!Amazing.Thank you. We need to trust the Lord, be obedient and have great courage to stand up for what is right.
Amen very well said pastor Dion! God Bless you all

Amen!! Thank you Pastor Dion for you daily devotion. It brings back memories when my husband lost his job it was really hard. He went back to school and I was working three jobs. My husband got job folding boxes and going to school. My husband did well at what ever he did he was getting all A's and really didn't study hard. My daughter and I said wish it was that easy for us. We went threw a few years just making it. Then he was done with school he end up with a computer job and is still at the same corporation. They always try to put more work on him he'll do what he can they had all comuter guy left and got a new job at a bank all three of the guys. I have to say this job was the best thing that happen. He's been here twenty some years now and plans to retire in a few years. He has a special relationship with the Father. I just never knew until I got ill how strong his relationship was with the Father. That's what helped me to grow closer to the Father and get threw all that we do. Amen! Thank you Father, for all you've done for my family. Amen <3

Amen...I continue to wait while making the best of my situation. God is in control.
I pray Pastor for loving fellowship to experience in our church. If you serve seem to be the way. When you have health issues it is hard.
Recently my left foot needed surgery & I am soon five weeks past & yesterday woke up with a very painful right ankle. The big tendon from heel up was swollen too. Hardly walk on it. Called my GP & his office was closed yet soon the operator had him call. PTL! I was going to hospital near my home. Doc said go to patient first. A neighbor was with me cause Bassettes needed help if I didn't get back to get them out. I pray for her. She wants to die. COPD with this humid heat has her then next she held out the nation throwing out God had her upset & terrorists had her frighten & doesn't to be alive when they come here. I told her God loves her & there is hope for He is hope. And more to calm her. She has been church all her yrs growing up. Not now. Pray she will know Him if she would die.
After 3 cabs ...to doc at Patient First, drug store & to home a bug bit me in ankle under my sock during garden work. I had Deet on but it got me in thru the sock. Antibiotic ..4 a day, cream for redness, swelling & itch 3 times a day.
It hurts yet but get tin' around. So if I have sickness after sickness and surgery after surgery how can I serve in a church. All Ladies' Bible Studies incredibly different the ladies & teachers too. I found a few in each to speak with or they said hello. But the cliche thing was there. One teacher said, well I will get back to you about coming to the study & then called to say we've decided to have you as one more and close the door. I was excited yet found a tight click even when it joined in a house for food & fellowship. I tried to sit among them & it was as though I wasn't there...in the living room group, the dining room & in the kitchen. I left. I tried two others & my heart was breaking for what I witnessed things said to others by leaders of the group. We go for worship. Like preaching & no where else to go. My husband hangs in believing what I said we go for & likes each pastor. I get it. Also all the mission work to city, vets under bridges, school kids, missions in other countries & the youth church they have with young ones to. Yet in the close knit I find nothing. I agree with out reach & missions but one on one nothing. I don't need a buddy just fellowship described in scripture. Sad.
I love your videos. My husband watched today ...where did you read that? Loved it! Oh well, I know the Lord knows. I had all this that scripture teaches & the church fractured.
Any feed back I appreciate.
