Yahweh said to Gideon, 'The people who are with you are too many for me to give the Midianites into their hand, lest Israel brag against me, saying, 'My own hand has saved me.' Now therefore proclaim in the ears of the people, saying, 'Whoever is fearful and trembling, let him return and depart fro...

Now after the death of Moses the servant of Yahweh, Yahweh spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses' servant, saying, 'Moses my servant is dead. Trust or Bust

  • If you will not believe, surely you shall not be established. Isaiah 7:9 WEB

Ephraim and Aram formed an alliance and prepared to invade Judah, which terrified the people living there. When the people of Judah learned of the coming invasion, 'The hearts of Ahaz and his people were shaken, as the trees of the forest are shaken by the wind' (Isaiah 7:2).

The Lord sent the prophet Isaiah and he told them not to worry for it would not happen. 'Be careful, keep calm and don't be afraid. Do not lose heart' (Isaiah 7:4). God then told them to stand firm in their faith, or they would not stand at all.

The words of this verse in the original language are a rhyme and basically mean: 'Trust or bust.' God said that it is time for all or nothing. You are in, or you are out. So many times God had proven His faithfulness to them, but it was like that He had to start completely over each time that a new problem arose.

It is important to God, and to our success on this earth, that we believe what He tells us. His promises are no good when we refuse to believe Him. He has come through for us so many times before, but each time when we are faced with a new trial, we often fall apart and start over again in unbelief just as they did.

There will be times when we are faced with terrible circumstances that make us want to cower, turn back, or stop what the Lord has called us to do. This is when we should examine ourselves and see whether it is the Lord calling us to a different direction, or is it just our fear holding us back. After all, we always imagine the worst possible thing.

If God is not giving us a new direction, then we stand on the last word from Him until He gives us a new one. When we have done all that we can, we stand (Ephesians 6:13). We remind ourselves of what God has done for us in the past and build ourselves up like David. He does not need prove His faithfulness again and again and again because we will believe Him. It is time to trust or bust. Today, stand firm in your faith no matter how dark the horizon appears.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I choose to trust You. I know that Your way is best and today I stand on Your word. No weapon formed against me will prosper. I serve Almighty God, what can man do to me? You have brought me this far and are well able to take care of me. May Your will be done in my life, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

Note: Good morning! The highlighted group of the week is Dreams - Meaning and Purpose: this private (all are invited, but only group members see the posts) group is centered around the truth that God often communicates to His people through dreams. The Dreams group is a great place to share what the Lord has shown you, discuss interpretations, and grow in wisdom and discernment when it comes to hearing His voice. We encourage you to post your dreams, questions, and thoughts about this subject in this group. ALSO, the Creation Photographers theme of the week is "May There Always Be Laughter" :), based on Psalm 126:2! As always, you are free to post anything else that inspires you, too! To reach this and any group, simply go to the Groups link on the site menu, or you can find these announcements at the top of our home page :). God bless!

Thank you for starting out the week with this blessing. I have been reminding my self for the passed month the goodness of GOD. More so now. When I have hit a bump in the road. It is breakthrough time. I know it, because GOD keeps showing me by his word. What ever happens I know he got me. Thank you. Keep these blessings coming.

Amen!!  If God brings us to it, he will definitely see us through it!!  It took me a long time to understand, and I slip and forget, but then the light shines and I remember, God will NEVER leave or forsake his children!!  Thanks you God for the gift of your son Jesus, my Savior who is always with me and will never let harm come to me!!  Alleluia!!

Ohhhhh soooooo convicting pastor Dion!!!  The need for me as a child of God and as a disciple of Jesus Christ to know my heavenly father is soooooo important if I am going to be victorious in my walk with God, trusting and obeying him!  And it is only through the diligent study and meditation of HIS word daily, spending time daily emptying myself out in my private prayer closet with my father, daily fellowship with like minded Christians who are on fire for Jesus and coming to the place where I deny and crucify myself, no longer relying on my own understanding and physical senses that this can happen.  I must stop limiting God by what my physical senses can take in or what my human mind can comprehend!!! And I must eliminate anything that competes with my time with getting to know my heavenly father!!! And anything that competes with my affection for God!!!  Truly, I must be dedicated in my pursuit of really, really getting to know God and then I must decrease so that he may increase.  Thank you pastor Dion for allowing yourself to be a vessel and messenger of God!
