Lay your burdens down

  • Lay your burdens down

     So many of us carry around the burdens of our past… things we regret saying… things we wish we had done differently... pain we may have caused others, or that was inflicted upon us. We were not meant to live with the weight of these burdens on us. God did not intend for us to carry such heaviness by ourselves. It's the enemy who comes to distract and destroy that holds our thoughts and feelings hostage in an effort keep us from living our lives in the freedom offered through Christ and it can prevent us from being all God calls us to be. Like the butterfly, we can be transformed if we let God in our hearts and accept Jesus as our Savior.

     

    Romans 8:1 (NLT) So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus.

    God gives us His Word to help us...to set us free and to help remove feelings of guilt, regret, fear, doubt and other negative feelings that can weigh us down too often.

    Ephesians 6:11 (HCSB) Put on the full armor of God so that you can stand against the tactics of the Devil.

    Don’t listen to the lies of Satan the accuser. Christ has already paid the price for your guilt and shame at the cross. It doesn't matter what you may have done or not done! The blood of Christ has washed you clean <3

     

    1 Peter 5:8 (ESV) Be sober-minded; be watchful.  Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.

    If you let him, Satan will devour you and try to steal all your joy in life. Stand strong in the knowledge that God has given us a great gift in Christ and that Satan cannot take that which is given by God! Keep your eyes focused on all that is good and pure…

    Philippians 4:7 & 8 (NIV)And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds inChrist Jesus.

    Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things.

    Have you heard the famous quote by Lao Tzu?

    “If you are depressed you are living in the past. 
    If you are anxious you are living in the future. 
    If you are at peace you are living in the present.”


    I believe that quote! When I am feeling depressed, I find I am living in, and ruminating on the past. Equally, when I notice feelings of anxiety rise up, I find myself worrying about something that has yet to happen.

    Isaiah 43:18-19 (NIV) Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.

    Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV) For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

    God wants us to live in the present… too far in the past can be a problem, leaving you stuck. Too far in the future can stop you from experiencing the joy that is in this day.

    Trust that God will lead your path straight to where he wants you to be. When Satan whispers thoughts of anxiety, fear, or doubt in your ear, tell him you know he is the liar and God walks with you today.

That is a good looking blog post Dianna. Love the pictures. We talk about adding pictures to the Daily Word of Hope, but that adds an extra level of work to something happening 7 days a week  :)

love verse you picked have ring that was the day  I did prayer mintrey  at my church remind of that day   share three other  peolpe about the past and moving on felt changed after that day focuse on future  I rember before  did  prayer minstery at church how change me well  change me lot more   be open let go of stuff.
