They said to you that "In the last time there will be mockers, walking after their own ungodly lusts." These are they who cause divisions, and are sensual, not having the Spirit. But you, beloved, keep building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit. Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life. Jude 1:18–21 WEB.
I sat down in the break room to have lunch and prayed over my food as usual. When a guy at the next table, apparently very annoyed with my faith, started to mock me. I just smiled, ate my lunch, and left remembering: The fool has said in his heart, "There is no God." (Psalm 14:1).
Like Elijah, I felt I was the only person in this place who had any reverence for God at all. I was on fire for Jesus at the time, and pleasing Him was all that mattered to me. I had become radically saved.
I've seen a lot of mockers in the workplace, especially while working in construction. They used to yell: "Pray for me, preacher! I am going to commit some adultery tonight, Lord willing!" and everyone would have a good laugh. I wasn't a preacher. I just went to church and thanked God for providing my lunch, but that was close enough for them.
After lunch that day, someone approached me in secret and explained that he was also a Christian. He wanted me to know but didn't want to tell anyone else because he would be mocked for his faith like me. He was a "Closet Christian."
I told him that while I didn't want to be mocked either, I wouldn't be ashamed of the Lord Jesus Christ, for that is a dangerous path. Jesus Christ warned us that if we were ashamed of Him, that He would be ashamed of us: "For whoever will be ashamed of me and of my words, of him will the Son of Man be ashamed" (Luke 9:26).
Being mocked is a small price to pay for a relationship. Would you deny knowing your spouse or mother because of what someone else thinks? If I have to choose between pleasing them or Jesus, they lose. If they fire me, there is another job waiting. If they knock me down, God can lift me up. If they beat me, God can heal me. If they kill me, then it will only send me to heaven to be with Him. "I have put my trust in God. I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?" (Psalms 56:11).
Pray and build yourself up in the Holy Spirit daily. For there will always be scoffers, but knowing Jesus is nothing to be ashamed of. A light is meant to shine and not be hidden under a basket (Matthew 5:15). So hold your head up, and act like you know Jesus on Monday as well as Sunday. It's fun to be radically saved.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I thank You for giving me another day here. Help me shine Your light, Lord. Please give me the strength to become who You created me to be. Enable me to stand strong for You in the face of adversity. In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen!
Note: Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” (Jeremiah 29:12-13) ~ If you have a prayer need, we are here for you! Site update #586: I completed a large update to the Audio Library on the left sidebar. There is now a live service archive of all past services, full-length in case you miss a service and want to catch up, as well as all of our original music. You can download the .mp3 files directly to your device now to listen when you don't have internet. I also added a pop-out player so you can listen without remaining on the page. Give it a try and let me know if you have any problems. 😀
You know I have been getting nudged by God to post something here for atleast 2 days but I was caught up in worry and fear about losing my job, losing my car and I was worried about my income so I did not post anything. But one thing I will say is this. God blessed me with my own home after waiting 17 years to have my own home. What I have noticed is that some people are not happy for me. Some people are literally jealous that God blessed me with my own home. People that I considered my friends don't want to talk to me or rush me off of the phone or don't answer when I call. God is so good because this Devotional Readings is explaining what I am experiencing. My Ex boyfriend I've noticed only want to come around when I have money. Other than that he rushes me off the phone when I dont have money. It is hard to admit it but people are jealous of my relationship with God. I was told that by a prophet years ago. People at my job that was once nice to me since I got my own apartment and I am Happy they were rude to me at work.. I would just say this is a Testimony because I have chose to open up my heart to speak the truth about what has been bothering me. I am a little heart broken because God is opening my eyes to the truth and Honestly it really hurt. But I will say I am grateful for this Devotional Readings because it is The God's honest truth.

It's alright, Madalyn, you spoke from your heart, and it is your testimony!!! We all can say or talk about our experiences we had after we received Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, people turning away from us, even including siblings, and it hurts! Even my own Mother, when I was first saved, turned against me, but then in the later years admitted that she saw a change in me! The most important relationship we will ever have is our relationship with our Lord and God, which is eternal!!! Count your blessings, and there will be more!!! May the Lord meet all of your needs, He knows your heart!!! 🙏

sounds great. I know that will be useful for me...need to write that down. Hope the Todd family have a blessed Saturday and Sunday. I do believe God gave us those 2 special days for His sake and our sake! Work hard or volunteer (myself) hard through the week. We get our rewards here on Earth and rewards in Heaven.
