Seek Yahweh while he may be found. Call on him while he is near. Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts. Let him return to Yahweh, and he will have mercy on him, to our God, for he will freely pardon. Isaiah 55:6-7 WEB.
I am a morning person. I like to get the most important work of the day done as early as possible. Then in the afternoon, I enjoy playing music, writing songs, gaming, and other pursuits. I like to spend some quiet time with the Lord in the morning before my brain is drained of all its energy.
However, I was called to pray every day at about 3 PM for a couple of months. It became a driving desire, a hunger, and the most important thing in my life for a season. Rather than doing the usual things that I would normally do, I would go into my room each day, close the door, and pray for one to three hours.
It wasn't your normal praying, either. I lay on the floor with my face on the carpet in tears, and the Lord's presence covered me like a warm blanket. There was such a sweet fellowship that it was all that I wanted to do. Eventually, it lifted, and life returned to normal. Then I returned to my morning prayer time.
It was a very rewarding experience, but it preceded a very dark time in my life when my faith was strained to the breaking point. I am unsure what I would have done if I had not spent the time in prayer leading up to it. When I finally came out of the test, He pushed me into full-time ministry. The time I spent in prayer brought the breakthrough.
The Lord is always with us, but there are special times when He wants you to come aside and spend some quality time with Him. These are times when He draws near to you, calls you to take a break from the daily routine, and to spend time with Him. He uses it to bring new fire into your life, inspiration, and to prepare you for what is coming. If you feel the Lord tugging at your heart and prompting you to come aside for a while, don't neglect Him.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I thank You so much. Please have Your way in my life. Lead me, and I will follow. Call me, and I will come. Open the door, and I will go through it. I want more of You in my life today. In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen!
Note: "For unto us a child is born..." ~ Merry Christmas, y'all! We are so honored to have each of you in our lives as we celebrate the birth of The Savior! For those interested, we will be celebrating today at our Wednesday morning prayer service at the usual time of 10:30am EST! This is a short service, about 15-20 minutes, where we pray together for any needs you bring forth. Hope to see y'all there! As always, if you have a prayer need, we are here for you! We and the prayer team are ready to lift you up at our private prayer page: RHM Prayer Network.
Site update #586: I completed a large update to the Audio Library on the left sidebar. There is now a live service archive of all past services, full-length in case you miss a service and want to catch up, as well as all of our original music. You can download the .mp3 files directly to your device now to listen when you don't have internet. I also added a pop-out player so you can listen without remaining on the page. Give it a try and let me know if you have any problems. 😀

What a blessing, Pastor Dion! The audio library page is easy to navigate and I truly appreciate the pop-out player, as I have many tabs open during my computer sessions and this allows me to keep the music flowing. Well done! 😊🎶

sounds great. I know that will be useful for me...need to write that down. Hope the Todd family have a blessed Saturday and Sunday. I do believe God gave us those 2 special days for His sake and our sake! Work hard or volunteer (myself) hard through the week. We get our rewards here on Earth and rewards in Heaven.
