Why do you call me, 'Lord, Lord,' and don't do the things which I say? Luke 6:46 WEB
Dad always warned us about playing with fire. One day my brother, who was only about three or four years old, got a hold of a pack of matches. He hid in the closet to play with them, sitting under the clothes that were hanging in there. It wasn't long before the closet was on fire, and then the entire house. By the time my mom noticed, it was too late. We all got out, but the house burned to the ground with everything in it.
Dad was at work and when he came home, he saw all of our belongings and the home that he had built with his own hands, uninsured and in ashes. Instead of being angry though, he hugged us all and was so thankful that we were all ok. Ken did not play with matches anymore.
God's word is there to protect us. It is for our own good that we follow His commandments. If you follow the Lord's guidance you will have a good life, maybe not rich, maybe not famous, or maybe you will have both. When we walk in disobedience we open so many doors of failure and frustration that He wanted to spare us from experiencing, but we can have it our way.
Wherever you are in your walk today, and no matter what you have done, God is not mad at you for burning down the house in the past. He will forgive you and he is glad that you are safe. Learn from it, listen to Him, and try to do better next time. Obedience is a key to a great life.
Prayer: Father, forgive me of my sins and restore me. Bring back the passion and the fire that I once walked in. Give me the grace to walk in obedience and help me to make the right decisions in my life, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.
Note: Good morning, happy Thursday :)! FAAD members (and others who may be interested), just a reminder that the FAAD weekly chat is happening tonight at 7pm EST in the RHM chatroom! The topic is "Perfect Love Casts Out Fear" and will be led by Jeff Smith. The Thursday chat is a great time to interact and share about what has been on your mind for the week as well. Have a blessed day!
Site update #586: I completed a large update to the Audio Library on the left sidebar. There is now a live service archive of all past services, full-length in case you miss a service and want to catch up, as well as all of our original music. You can download the .mp3 files directly to your device now to listen when you don't have internet. I also added a pop-out player so you can listen without remaining on the page. Give it a try and let me know if you have any problems. 😀

What a blessing, Pastor Dion! The audio library page is easy to navigate and I truly appreciate the pop-out player, as I have many tabs open during my computer sessions and this allows me to keep the music flowing. Well done! 😊🎶

sounds great. I know that will be useful for me...need to write that down. Hope the Todd family have a blessed Saturday and Sunday. I do believe God gave us those 2 special days for His sake and our sake! Work hard or volunteer (myself) hard through the week. We get our rewards here on Earth and rewards in Heaven.
