However, not to give offense to them, go to the sea and cast a hook and take the first fish that comes up, and when you open its mouth you will find a shekel. Take that and give it to them for me and for yourself. Matt 17:27 ESV
When Jesus came to Capernaum, the tax collectors asked Peter for taxes. Jesus told him to go fishing and the first fish that he caught would have a silver coin in its mouth, and to use that to pay them. What are the chances of that? I grew up fishing and never caught one like that.
Once when out of work for a season, I really needed two-hundred-fifty dollars to pay a bill and had no way to get it. After I went to church that Sunday, I noticed an envelope tucked into my Bible. When I opened it, there were two one-hundred dollar bills and a fifty. I still do not know for sure who did it, but they certainly heard from the Lord that time.
We like to be self sustaining, and to have to depend on others is a struggle. But if you lean in on God, you will find that He is more than enough.
So today if you find yourself in a tight spot, know that He is able to help you. Don't give up. God Almighty is the one that brings something, from nothing.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, You know my needs before I even ask, and You know the things that I am facing. Please provide for me and boost my faith along the way, in the name of Jesus I pray.
We are in the middle of replacing the firewall, switching, and upgrading the Internet to Fiber. In the end, it will one-hundred times faster, from 20 to 2,000, but things are a bit hectic here at the moment. You may have received 20+ devotionals this morning. I did. Hopefully that will not happen tomorrow! We have been working on it since 3AM and are aware of the issues. Thank you for patience and understanding during the upgrade which will hopefully be over this week! God bless. 😀🙏
