  Welcome everyone back to the second video teaching for Refreshing Hope Ministries. I especially want to welcome those who are battling Anxiety and Depression. My name is Jim Jarrell and I would like to thank Pastor Dion and his wife Sylvia for this opportunity to address this group.

  What attracted me to Refreshing Hope ministries to begin with are two things. I live in Myrtle Beach South Carolina. I cannot speak about too many places, but here, there is a church on just about every corner. They all teach about the same thing, but each of them believes something just a little bit different. If one is not satisfied with how one church is, then you can go look at another church.

  One thing I can tell everyone about Dion and Sylvia is that they are truthful about what they say. Last week you heard me talk about the guy who became my sponsor in Alcoholics Anonymous; he was someone that I could trust. That is how I see Dion and Sylvia. They are not going to tell you something that they do not know. God truly can speak to us in so many ways, what we as human beings need to understand is that does not need to be made up when it can be so real. I know that God spoke to me through that Angel He sent to me in 1989. I know that God was speaking to me through the tapes that my father gave me in 1993. Jeramiah 28:9 says; “The prophet who prophesies of peace, when the word of the prophet comes to pass, then that prophet will be known as one whom the LORD has truly sent.” You see, if God truly spoke something, then you will see it happen with your own eyes. What Dion probably does not know is that I have not missed reading his writings very often since he started sending them out. I am sure that he tries very hard to speak the truth.

  The other thing that attracted me to Refreshing Hope is that it has the potential to go around the world. When I first started talking about retiring, the Pastor who ordained me asked me a question. He said; “If you could have the desire of your heart, what would you like to do with the rest of your life? My response surprised even me. I said; “ I would like to go to every church in America and tell them the truth about my life.” After that we prayed and asked God to let that happen. Now, I know in the natural that is not possible, there are too many churches in America to go to. If I went to one every day even then I could not do that. But with God, anything is possible! See Jeramiah 32: 27 which says; “Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh; is anything too difficult for me.” This ministry can do just what I asked and then some. I would like to remind everyone of the video which ran last week as I introduced myself and why I am doing this. If there is someone here tonight that has not seen that video, we can make it available. I have been shown in the Bible that God has always had witnesses on earth of who He is. People have not always understood what was being said, but that never meant they were not true. God has always seemed to want people to understand that they can see with their own eyes that the things He has said are true.

  Last week I introduced you to The Kingdom of God message and how we do not have to wait until we get to heaven to see these promises come true in our lives. That is the message of my life. Just the fact that I am speaking to you now should be enough to show how well this kingdom message works. There was a time when I chose not to speak with anyone, now I am speaking to everyone. To me, that is simply amazing in itself. When I say that God brought me out of anxiety and depression that is the truth. All that I did was take what was taught on that tape and started applying it to my life. I was so amazed to see how well it worked.

  That is where I intended to go tonight, but the Holy Spirit had other ideas that God wanted me to speak on first. It seemed every time I started to prepare, something would stop me. Then finally on Wednesday morning the Holy Spirit showed me what God wanted me to speak on and why. God wants everyone to understand just because you hear a word preached, that does not make it true. He wants you to prove it to yourself; He wants us to know it is a word from Him. What do you have to lose by trying something for a little while to see for yourself if it works?

  Some years ago at an intercessory prayer meeting, at the church Pastor Dion and I first met which were probably the most spiritually active meetings I have ever been in. A lady spoke to me. She said you will be a Prophet like Jeremiah, she said you will understand what it is like to be a Prophet like Jeremiah. I remember thinking how cool that word was and because the book of Jeremiah has such prominence in the Bible. So I went home and studied the book of Jeremiah the Prophet. That is why so much of what I say comes from the book of Jeremiah, I have become so familiar with what the book of Jeremiah says. If I am to become like him, then I should know what he said and did. This is what I meant when I said try it to see if it works in your life. What I did not understand is that most of the time when the Prophet Jeremiah spoke to anyone, they did not believe him. I have experienced that in my life more times than I would like to talk about. I guess that has been going on for a long time. There have been so many people who claimed to speak for God, some of them must have been wrong.

  Anyway, this word tonight will be from Jeremiah 32: 1-8. This message is for someone listening tonight and my hope is that your life will be changed forever.

  I would like to remind everyone that I will be reading from the New American Standard translation of the Bible. The Bible you are using might be worded a little differently, but the same message will come out. There are more translations of the Bible into English than I would have ever believed. The biggest problem I believe is that the Bible was written so many years ago in languages we do not speak or understand. English is not a very good language but it is what we speak.

  Jeremiah 32:1-8 says: The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD in the tenth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, which was the eighteenth year of Nebuchadnezzar. Now at that time the army of the king of Babylon was besieging Jerusalem, and Jeremiah the prophet was shut up in the court of the guard, which was in the house of the king of Judah, because Zedekiah king of Judah had shut him up, saying, “Why do you prophesy, saying, ‘Thus says the LORD, “Behold, I am about to give this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he will take it; and Zedekiah king of Judah will not escape out of the hand of the Chaldeans, but he will surely be given into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he will speak with him face to face and see him eye to eye; and he will take Zedekiah to Babylon, and he will be there until I visit him,” declares the LORD. “If you fight against the Chaldeans, you will not succeed” And Jeremiah said, “The word of the LORD came to me, saying, ‘Behold, Hanamel the son of Shallum your uncle is coming to you, saying, “Buy for yourself my field which is at Anathoth, for you have the right of redemption to buy it.”’ “Then Hanamel my uncle’s son came to me in the court of the guard according to the word of the LORD and said to me, ‘Buy my field, please, that is at Anathoth, which is in the land of Benjamin; for you have the right of possession and the redemption is yours; buy it for yourself.’ Then I knew that this was the word of the LORD!

  One can clearly see from this passage of scripture that king Zedekiah did not believe the things that Jeremiah was saying. Not only did he not believe them, they upset him so much that he had Jeremiah arrested and thrown in to prison. Jeremiah must have had some privileges even in prison because his nephew was able to come and talk with him. You see being a prophet or a pastor is not always accepted by everyone. But, following God will always result in God’s favor showing up somehow. When the Chaldeans finally broke through the walls of Jerusalem, king Nebuchadnezzar said to the leaders of his men that they should take good care of Jeremiah the Prophet. I wonder just how he knew Jeremiah was even there.

  I would like you to hear the last sentence from the scripture again; “Then I knew that this was the word of the LORD!” You see, God wants you to know, so that you can see with your own eyes that His word is true. He wants you to know in this life you are living on this earth right now that His promises are real; they are just provisional on how you allow them to work in your life. The story goes on to say that Jeremiah bought the field and sealed the deed and had them stored away. Considering Jeremiah was locked up, but he had enough silver to buy a piece of land, he must not have been too broke. After he had done what God told him to do, then he prayed and asked God why He had said these things. I have seen so many sick, broke people in the church; I do not think that is how it is supposed to be. Like I said last week, when I hear something new and it seems possible, I just try to apply it to my life. I have found that some things work and others did not. I hope that you will continue to listen to these teachings and try them in your life. I think you will be surprised at how well they work.
