Rest in Jesus

Psalm 110:1- The Lord says to my Lord: Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet.

Jesus sits at the right hand of God the Father (Colossians 3:1, Ephesians 1:20). For those of us who accept Jesus Christ, our lives are now hidden in Him (Colossians 3:3). We too have rest at the right hand of God the Father.
Right now, we are all at war. There is a very real war going on in this world. We have anger, fear, and real heartache for the loss of lives at the hand of those who desire to kill and destroy. We must remember that Jesus warned us of these things. John 10:10 warns us that the enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy. Paul tells us that the enemy is not flesh and blood, but instead the struggle is against the spiritual forces of evil.
Our natural inclination is to be angry and to lash out at those things we cannot control.
We must arm ourselves with the truth. Preparing for war in this life is to trust in the truth. We must sit in rest at the right hand of God. He will make all of our enemies a footstool for our feet. The word declares it. When we declare these words over our lives, we can trust that our Father will fulfill that promise. Isaiah 55:11, the word of God will not return void. This means that the promise is backed up by another promise. Speak the promises of God over your life. Say them out loud. There is nothing in this life that is bigger than that. No matter what you may see with your eyes in this world, it is all temporary. 2nd Corinthians 4:18 says "So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal". That means that anything that we see in this world is temporary. What we must do is allow those promises in the word of God to permeate every area of our bodies. The Lord is here, the Lord is making our enemies a footstool for our feet. He tells us to sit. The command is not an action item, it is to sit. When we sit at the right hand of God through Jesus, we allow Him to do the work. We allow Him to make our enemies a footstool. Pray brothers and sisters, and declare the promises of God over your life. Trust in God for all things, but find yourself at His right hand in Jesus.
