You will keep whoever's mind is steadfast in perfect peace, because he trusts in you. Trust in Yahweh forever; for in Yah, Yahweh, is an everlasting Rock. Isaiah 26:3 WEBHow did I get caught up in this mess? Many times have I asked myself that question. Looking back, it always began with a thought, ...

Where could I go from your Spirit? Or where could I flee from your presence? If I ascend up into heaven, you are there. If I make my bed in Sheol, behold, you are there! If I take the wings of the dawn, And settle in the uttermost parts of the sea; Even there your hand will lead me, And your right h...

"Power at the Gate!"

  • The Lord has taught me a ton about "waiting" over the years. It is not an easy thing to do. As we wait for the plans and promises of God to manifest in our lives, we are to stay focused on HIM and His assignment in that moment. The best way for me to describe my times of waiting is like standing at an intersection and you want so much to cross over to the destination you are trying to reach. I bolt out in anticipation and excitement only to feel a grab at my arm pulling me back to the curb. I look up to see not a green light, but one of the bright orange hands telling me to wait. Then I would hear the Lord say, “STOP! I will let you know when it is time to walk. This is for your own protection.”

That is usually the Que where I would want to say, "Seriously, haven't we been down this road before?" You feel like you are ready to run, the baton has been passed only to be stopped. There are certain times and areas of our lives that tempt us to run ahead of God. I want to encourage you today, "Don't settle for less, Beloved, wait for your double portion. That orange hand at traffic signal means “WAIT.” It doesn’t mean, “Stop forever. You will never move from this place.” It means, “Wait right here until it is safe for you to move forward.” It means, “The time is not good for you to proceed right now, but if you wait a little longer, He will most assuredly give you the green light to "GO"! It may be delayed, but it is not canceled. It will arrive. Maybe not on your time or when you thought it should, but rest assured it will arrive. God has not canceled your promise, Beloved. He is simply delaying it until His appointed time. “Hold fast, like an anchor in the storm.” Ride it out!

As I type these words, the Lord is showing me a huge, tall gate that stands before me. He repeats the words, "Power at the Gate!" The power He has promised for your breakthrough and for the future fulfillment of His plans for your life is at the gate where you are waiting. You are at the Gate called Wait and there is power in that place. He will carry you through the cloudy, stormy days. He will love you through all that comes. He will strengthen you through the struggle. A gate is an entry point. It is an indication of something grand and beautiful lying on the other side awaiting you. As you stay in that place and trust His perfection in all things, His power will enable you to endure and persevere. It is good to imagine the beauty that is beyond but never become so consumed with what is on the other side that you miss the lessons He wants you to learn at the GATE of WAIT.

Be blessed in the waiting for there is hope just beyond. Even as I conclude this word, I hear the sound of gates opening for the appointed time is here and your wait is done. You are crossing over!
