For it is precept on precept, precept on precept; line on line, line on line; here a little, there a little. Love Knows Your Name

  • Mary Magdalene from whom seven demons were cast out. She once lived in such darkness and despair, but now she is different. What in Heaven's name happened to her? Well, I will tell you! Love happened! It was a love that not only had the power to cure her, but the power to transform her. A love that made her feel known and wanted. A love that knew her name.

Mary saw Jesus die a brutal death on that old, rugged cross. After he was buried, she went to visit His grave. However, when she arrived at the tomb, something was very wrong. The place where they laid him was empty. So she began to cry, thinking someone had stolen His body. As she cried, she heard that voice that simply would make any heart be still and yet leap at the same time.

Jesus saith unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? whom seekest thou? She, supposing him to be the gardener, saith unto him, Sir, if thou have borne him hence, tell me where thou hast laid him, and I will take him away. Jesus saith unto her, Mary. She turned herself, and saith unto him, Rabboni; which is to say, Master. (John 20:15-16)

She recognized Jesus instantly when she heard him say, "Mary" So the truth that Jesus wants me to bring forth to you today is this.
The Creator of the stars knows your name! The molder of the mountains knows your name! The essence of love knows your name! It changed Mary, it changed you and me, It takes us from darkness to light. It takes us from empty to overflowing. No matter what you may be going through, he is never far from you, nor has he forgotten you.

You have a God who knows your name.
    Love knows your name.
