When pride comes, then comes shame, but with humility comes wisdom. Proverbs 11:2 WEBThe movie "Pride and Prejudice" might have scored good ratings at the theatre, but it will not score you points with God. He looks at your heart instead of your clothing. These are two great hindrances to the Holy S...

For you formed my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother's womb. I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful. My soul knows that very well. My frame wasn't hidden from you, when I was made in secret, woven together in the depths of the earth....

For we were saved in hope, but hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for that which he sees? But if we hope for that which we don't see, we wait for it with patience. Romans 8:24 WEB'Oh I don't want to face tomorrow. I have a bad, bad, feeling about this.' On and on we go into a spiral of sel...

They said What?

  • In Mark 9 Jesus begins to reveal to His Disciples that He must go to Jerusalem and be 'killed'. And then on the 3rd Day - be Resurrected. Of course, they had absolutely no idea what He was talking about.

Immediately after revealing this incredibly important bit of information, they began to have a 'discussion' among themselves. You won't believe what they discussed ... or ... maybe - you will.

The Disciples were wondering Which of Them would have the Highest Seat in the Kingdom of God? ... or ... Which of Them was the 'Greatest' among themselves?

Now we have learned from other passages - that James and John, the Sons of 'Thunder' or 'Commotion', had a very insistent Mother who desired of Jesus that they - her sons, would sit, one on the Right and the other on the Left of Jesus, in His kingdom. Undoubtedly James and John spurred this conversation on and were themselves in the 'heat' of it ...

I hope that you can see how awkward it must have been to discuss such a thing after Jesus revealed something so very important. What did Jesus think about their conversation? Did He shake His head at how soon they 'moved on' from something so necessary - to something so trivial?
Have you ever had such an experience? If YOU are the kind of Christian, or Follower of Jesus who takes the Great Commission and your individual calling seriously .. then most likely ... you have had such an experience.

I can recall very clearly, and ... very often ... sharing with others who were 'in the ministry' with me something very serious and very necessary about what God was going to do. This would require prayer and a level of consecration from all who were involved with me in this work.
On one certain occasion after talking of just such a scenario, it was not 2 seconds afterward that several of the men began to talk about a 'ball game'. Inwardly, I could not believe how 'quickly' the flesh took over the mind of the spirit.

This honestly saddened me and was very difficult for me to watch happen without a response. Because of this, I was eventually accused of 'Pride' and 'Arrogance', by one or two of the very men God had given to labor in this work.

No man that is engaged in 'warfare' entangles himself in the affairs of this life ...

When God genuinely calls a Man or a Woman to labor on behalf of a heavenly calling, there is a guarantee that some will not be 'Equal to the Task' and could possibly even tear down what God has begun to build.

For this reason, it is so necessary for God to 'test the spirit' of Men to see if they will endure the difficult moments that must come. And those moments will come ... especially if that work must tear down some of the false fortifications upon which men 'rely' ... that are NOT of God.
If God is calling you to a work in your place of Worship or to any Evangelistic 'Ministry' - pay attention to the 'leading' of the Holy Spirit and give regard to His Directions. Otherwise, you may only tear down the Work that God Himself is building.
Keep your Mind on What it is ... He is Saying.

Jeremiah 33:3 Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not. KJV.
