What do we do when Trouble knocks at our Door? Do we grow fearful? Angry? Are we so easily discouraged and brought to tears?
As Children, we were discomforted by any number of things. Sometimes as Adults, when disappointment comes our way, we act like spoiled children going on a rampage or throwing a pity party whenever the hint of trouble touches us.
"I don't deserve this!", we say.
"I have been faithful!", we charge God.
"I have done everything I should have been doing!", we rationalize.
And we work ourselves into a frenzy, stirring up, even more, trouble that MAY or MAY NOT be real! And while we are at it ... we get on the phone or on one of our high-tech communication devices to make sure that someone else gets involved in our trouble also! We often DON'T trust God with it ... regardless of our claim to having a relationship with Him.
IF we are to get angry ... why not get angry at ourselves for NOT TRUSTING God?
The assurance to us, from Jesus, is that 'in this world, we WILL have troubles and torments and trials and tribulations ... but His Promise is even Greater! For He continues to say: "But ... Be of Good Cheer ... For I HAVE OVERCOME the World!"
Where is our Cheer?
We claim that God is Bigger than any problem, especially when the Trouble is NOT ours but belongs to 'someone else'.
WE are so very ready to encourage others ... But when WE are confronted with a problem it somehow becomes 'different'. How so?
Why can't we encourage ourselves?
Faith is NOT TESTED when somebody else has the 'problem'. Faith is TESTED when YOU have it! When it is at YOUR Front Door! And when it is knocking hard and often! But what you do with it ... and how YOU respond shows the TRUE LEVEL of your Faith.
And IF Faith is what pleases God then we must realize that while we are IN our trouble ... our common enemy does not want us to Believe God for OUR OWN GOOD. We must realize that God does allow trouble to come to Our Door so that we might have the opportunity for INCREASED FAITH!
Our Increased Faith is the Enemy's Greatest Fear! For with Increased Faith comes Increased Works!
When the trial comes our way we need to Complain ... but NOT just to anyone. We need to pour out our Complaint to God WHO CARES for us.
Do you know that nearly every time the word Complain or Complaint is mentioned in Scripture it is coming from someone who is Trusting God?
I know too many people who 'hate their lives' when trouble touches them. They scream and cry and blame and cuss and throw a fit! And too often they sit and accuse 'even the Almighty' as though HE is Unfaithful!
Can you imagine how it will be when REAL Persecution begins to come on the People of God IN OUR Nation? And yes ... IT IS COMING! It is even now at the Door.
And I will tell you something ... The CHURCH IS NOT PREPARED!
Our Theology is an Escape Theology! We have no Endurance built into it. WE are ready for Good but not for Trouble! God Help Us!
We need to Repent and Turn back to a REAL RELATIONSHIP with Jesus!
