Therefore don't be anxious, saying, 'What will we eat?', 'What will we drink?' or, 'With what will we be clothed?' For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore don't be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Each day's own evil is sufficient. Matthew 6:31-34 WEB
We sat quietly at the table while we ate our food. Normally we talked and laughed, but tonight we were both worried about tomorrow. We had found a lien on our property for a tax bill that we never owed, but it had accumulated late fees until it was more than we had. Disputing it was going to be a challenge in the least because it was a decade old.
What could we do? We called the state tax office to begin a dispute and they explained that the record was so old that it had been archived and removed from their system. They would have to restore it from a backup and it would be an overnight process, so we had to call back tomorrow.
My wife and I sat down together and prayed over the situation, and got an impression to 'Say nothing negative.' It was the only word for that day so we stood on it and just said nothing at all because my every single thought was negative. It was very difficult to not whine and complain and talk about all the different scenarios and the 'what if' that may happen. We managed to restrain ourselves and ate our food silently.
After a night of silence, the next day came and we called them back. To our surprise, the tax office was extremely polite and had cleared the lien. We owed them nothing. They took care of all of the paperwork and explained that because we never owed the original tax bill we did not owe the late fees and penalties either.
Do not worry about tomorrow. Pray and try to follow the Lord as best you can today, and let tomorrow worry about itself. One word from God changes everything. Many times, the things that we are worried about will never even come to pass, unless we open our mouth and welcome it in.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I thank You for being on my side. Please give me the grace to say nothing negative and remind me of my speech, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.
Note: Happy Friday! The Sunday message for this week will be the second part of our series on the Holy Spirit, and will focus on clearing up misconceptions in the church. We would love to see you there! ALSO, the Healthful Living group is hosting a new fitness challenge event: "Stronger in September". The event focuses on strength training, an important factor in our physical health and preventing injuries. We hope you will join us :). FINALLY, let''s all pray for those in the path of Hurricane Hermine, especially those in our RHM family and their loved ones!

Another meaningful article for me on not speaking the negative or wrong thing and just outing things into the hands of the Master and not worrying. God can fix it.
Amen

Amen! Our words have power. We must use them wisely and speak positivity into our trials and storms. As we speak praise and we thank Abba Father for our circumstances and trials, He moves them out of our way so we can thrive in this world. There is no battle, no storm, no trial that our Abba Father cannot win, calm or cease. Nothing is impossible to Him. We must always look to the end when He will give us victory and thank him for the blessings that come as we grow in our faith.
Amen like your message

Thank you Lord for reminding me not to speak anything negative about my problems and struggles. But depends on you for answers to any problems or struggle into my life. Thank pastor Todd for this devotion this morning
Amen
I really enjoyed this. It is a very good reminder! Thank you!
The only way I am able to stay positive is to give my worries over to Jesus. He is my savior for sure. Without him I would probably be an angry unhappy person.
That is the best way, Michael <3
Thank you!
Amen
Good lesson for us "worry-warts"
This word really hit home for me.... Say nothing negative. I feel like the Lord has been on me about that for the past two weeks. My grandmother, mother, and father, were very negative people and had a lot of anxiety and dreaded life! I'm trying to break the cycle and become more positive, but it is so difficult. I was brought up to expect the worse instead of the best. This is one of the things I will be praying about during my fast.
I know that can't be easy, Kim, especially with it being patterned into you like that. I pray that the Lord blesses you with new revelation that turns that pattern around and guards you during the times when you are tempted to be unnecessarily negative.
Thank you so much!
Amen
Saying nothing negative can be really hard but usually the best way to deal with problems. Once you speak out you can't take it back.Pray about it...Amen.
This devotional is so perfect for me today!! My boss recently announced a 10% pay cut for all office personnel. I've been passed over for a raise twice. This pay cut was going to really hurt my budget. I prayed and prayed to God for his mercy and guidance. I asked my boss for a meeting, to let him know that I have taken on more work & that I don't think my 10% would increase his budget, but would definitely hurt mine. I have a disabled son @ home & it's tough to make ends meet. After two days of thinking about it, my boss called me into his office today & gave me back my 10% pay plus that raise I earned!! Thank you God for listening & answering my prayers!! Thank you Pastor Dion for your devotional. !!
Praise God!
Thank you Ticardo! May God Bless you and yours.
