Fear Not from Refreshing Hope Ministries on Vimeo. Today I want to talk about fear, and the importance of pressing on even though we are afraid. When God calls you to do something, often fear is the first guardian that will be sent to stop you from accomplishing it. The Apostle Paul wrote to Timo...

But you, when you pray, enter into your inner room, and having shut your door, pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. Sorting The Fish

  • King Agrippa, do you believe the prophets? I know that you believe.' Agrippa said to Paul, 'With a little persuasion are you trying to make me a Christian?' Paul said, 'I pray to God, that whether with little or with much, not only you, but also all that hear me today, might become such as I am, except for these bonds.' Acts 26:27 WEB

On a fishing boat, when a net is pulled out of the water, there may be many types of fish caught in it. They dump the net on the floor of the ship and then someone sorts them out while the fishermen prepare to put the net back in the water. In Christianity, we work with the Holy Spirit as the fishermen, but God sorts the fish. He chooses what to keep and what to release.

One day I watched this hardened drug dealer begin to weep. He was a long time friend whose life had now gone the other way. That day I was going to town and he wanted to come, so I brought him along. We lived in the country and as we drove down the highway, I began to tell him about some scripture that I had been studying recently and how it fascinated me.

At first he just laughed it off and said a few mocking things, like 'You don't really believe that stuff do you?' But soon the Holy Spirit settled over him and he became shaky and scared. If he could have gotten out of the car, he would have, but today I was driving. He stared out of the passenger side window for a while and when he looked back at me, he was in tears. I was in awe of power and love of the Holy Spirit, and a bit surprised.

Here we were with the Holy Spirit loving this guy who had never given Him a positive thought. He did drugs, sold drugs, stole things, and nothing really seemed beneath him. Still God loved him and was reaching out to draw him into the flock that day. God includes the ones that we exclude.

We should reach out to the lost wherever, and whoever they may be. Be a friend to those that need one, because they will not listen to an enemy. Also, don't try and correct the problems in people's lives. Lead them to Jesus first and He will take care of the rest. Paul witnessed to everyone around him. Some were saved, some were not. His goal was to save everyone and let God sort them out. We should do the same.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I thank You for putting me where I am. Put Your words in my heart and let Your Holy Spirit rise up within me. Fill me with Your wisdom and tact, let me know when to share with others and when to keep my mouth shut, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

Heavenly Father, I thank You for putting me where I am. Put Your words in my heart and let Your Holy Spirit rise up within me. Fill me with Your wisdom and tact, let me know when to share with others and when to keep my mouth shut, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray. Amen ...These words speak volumes to me today as I am about to start a new job in which it's been made clear to me I have to be very careful how I speak about my faith. I showed by new boss my children's book I have published to ask if I would be able to share it with the children. While she liked the book she made it clear we are a district and not privately owned. We have children from a variety of religions and out of respect we do not discuss God or religion! It has been a problem in the last 4 month's with a parent being upset over Some issue regarding discussions if this nature. She even mentioned that some of the staff also make a big deal if you talk about your faith... well I'm praying this prayer and asking God to help me keep my mouth shut where it needs to be but my faith us such a strong part of who I am it's hard to speak with out speaking of it. I know God hand picked this position for me so I'm standing strong in faith he will continue to favor and guide me to what he wants from me and into his peace and joy weather I can speak at work about it or not. Thank you Pastor Dion! Much food for thought today! God bless

Sometimes our walk is the Bible that people read. Stay your course and realize that unless God directs you to approach someone, don't say anything. It is not what we do for God, it's what God does through us. IJS

Sometimes Actions Speak Better Than Words. My mother always told me that no matter how mean or disrespecting a person can be towards you, to always react kindly, because KINDNESS KILLS those who are unbelieving.

so if God choses who to keep and who to "throw" back then how can we all be saved?? when all my life i have seen and read, anyonewho believes in me shall have ever lasting life?

Betsy, not all who say the words truly believe and live for Him. For instance, in Matt 7:22-23 - "22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

Jesus said that those who truly believe will constantly obey the Word of God. "Obediance is better than sacrifice."

Amen! The Great Comission is for us to tell others the Gospel. We need to incorporate this into our daily lives and let Jesus lead us to those who need to hear. We need to pray that the Holy Spirit will keep us silent when necessary and give us the words to speak when we should speak. No one should miss out on hearing the Gospel.

Totally Awesome. Truly, Only God's Holy Spirit can reach someone in that shape. I was in similar shape when God's Loving Light shone on me. My self made "Fog" was whisky/Some Drugs and unbelief. Having been raised by my Italian Catholic Mom, Jesus was in the same category as the Easter bunny, or Santa Claus. Thanks for Sharing your Wonderful Experiences Brother.

First a devorce on May 20th, then stepped in a hole on June 21st and broke my femur bone. I'm home after 7 wks of rehab, reguarding a broken femur bone. Theapy 3xs a wk and nursing 2x. So now my x has filed chapter 7 bankrupsey and put the debt on me. I wear a T Shirt that says Miracles Happen in Bling. They do every second of the day.

Sharon while I share a similar situation with you, I understand the frustration, pain, and sometimes the anger, but "God shall supply ALL of your needs....."

Hello Sharon, I thought that I woud share this with you:

Psalm 27:14 Wait on the Lord.   It may seem an easy thing to wait, but it is one of the postures which a Christian soldier learns not without years of teaching. Marching and quick-marching are much easier to God's warriors than standing still. There are hours of perplexity when the most willing spirit, anxiously desirous to serve the Lord, knows not what part to take. Then what shall it do? Vex itself by despair? Fly back in cowardice, turn to the right hand in fear, or rush forward in presumption? No, but simply wait. Wait in prayer, however. Call upon God, and spread the case before Him; tell Him your difficulty, and plead His promise of aid. In dilemmas between one duty and another, it is sweet to be humble as a child, and wait with simplicity of soul upon the Lord. It is sure to be well with us when we feel and know our own folly, and are heartily willing to be guided by the will of God. But wait in faith. Express your unstaggering confidence in Him; for unfaithful, untrusting waiting, is but an insult to the Lord. Believe that if He keep you tarrying even till midnight, yet He will come at the right time; the vision shall come and shall not tarry. Wait in quiet patience, not rebelling because you are under the affliction, but blessing your God for it. Never murmur against the second cause, as the children of Israel did against Moses; never wish you could go back to the world again, but accept the case as it is, and put it as it stands, simply and with your whole heart, without any self-will, into the hand of your covenant God, saying, "Now, Lord, not my will, but Thine be done. I know not what to do; I am brought to extremities, but I will wait until Thou shalt cleave the floods, or drive back my foes. I will wait, if Thou keep me many a day, for my heart is fixed upon Thee alone, O God, and my spirit waiteth for Thee in the full conviction that Thou wilt yet be my joy and my salvation, my refuge and my strong tower."

Thank You Joesph for the oh so many reminders of Gods Promises for me. I read PSALMS 91 in the morning and at night before I go to bed. A word was given to me by a freind that The Lord told her to tell me to be patience, alittle more patience, alittle more patience and at the end it will be awesome.

You see while I was in rehab,my house was vandelized, broke my window and terrorized my cats, 5 of them are missing. I had a kid from the church suppose to take care of things.Weds night I asked if everything was ok, he said yes,but I have bad news for you ,broke window and all the cats are gone. Thurs morning got a ride to my house, it was just aweful, plus my wiemerianer was half dead from losing so much weight, which I had been paying for the cat food and dog food, plus gas money for him. The water pipe was broke, $619.00 later. That's just part of what I found on the property. Anyway, God sent me the freind and family to help me when I got out on August 15th. They are staying in the cottage. God is good. They were homeless at the time so God is working all the way around.Whatever you do unto these you do unto Me.They have shelter, food and are getting back on their feet too.Husband,Wife and two children of age. They need prayer also.Everthing works for good for those that love The Lord.

Sorry about being long winded but God is Awesome !
