God said, 'Let's make man in our image, after our likeness. Let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the sky, and over the livestock, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.' God created man in his own image. In God's image he created him; male and female he created them. Genesis 1:26 WEB
For a long time, I was with a person who would try and destroy something that I cared about anytime she was angry. I love cars, and was once slowly restoring an old Pontiac Grand Prix. When I had it close to finished, one day I came home to find profanity spray painted all over the body, the windows, the chrome, the rims and tires. Over time I saw her beat the windows out of my cars with shovels, kick dents in the fenders and door panels, and ram them with other cars. It was like an uncontrollable jealous rage, and her preferred way of hurting me, was to hurt something that I cared about.
We are made in the image of God, and He loves us. 'For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son' (John 3:16). God is big and strong, so satan cannot stand up to Him. Instead he takes his anger out on something that God loves: us. Every time that we fall into one of his traps, he is filled with happiness because it hurts God. This is his preferred way of getting back at God, by hurting those who God cares about.
When David took Bathsheba as his wife, the Lord told him through the prophet Nathan, who said, 'because by this deed you have given great occasion to Yahweh's enemies to blaspheme, the child also who is born to you shall surely die' (2 Samuel 12:14). When satan got David, the great man of God to fall into his trap, it gave the enemies of God 'great occasion' to blaspheme, curse, laugh. Over all, the enemies of God loved it. They celebrated.
Your actions and choices affect more than you. There is a spiritual battle raging on in the heavenlies. Hang on to God tight and do not be used as a tool by falling to temptation. Though it looks pleasurable, it is nothing but a trap designed to mar the image of God one more time.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, help me stand strong and to see the road ahead clearly. Lead me not into temptation, but deliver me from the evil one. Protect me from my own weaknesses and let me never give Your enemies reason to rejoice. In the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

Very True...People think the grass is greener on the other side.TRAP ! They destroy their blessings and get trapped in the ways of the world or man. Trickery, deceit lies of the enemy. They think their free, not so.
Amen♡
Holy Smoke! I knew there was very deep waters to pull from in you Pastor. That must have took everything not to wring her hateful neck. I think I was married to her Sister before I was Blessed with my Wonderful Dorene(Well...Wonderful Most of the time anyway). I had an old 65' Pontiac Bonneville. Man, what a Boat that thing was. Super Heavy, and Super long. They just don't make them like that anymore, for sure. Thanks once again for sharing your lifes Joys, and Pains with us, your Loving Flock. Love and Prayers, Norm and Dorene in Abilene

Exodus 25:6 Oil for the light. My soul, how much thou needest this, for thy lamp will not long continue to burn without it. Thy snuff will smoke and become an offence if light be gone, and gone it will be if oil be absent. Thou hast no oil well springing up in thy human nature, and therefore thou must go to them that sell and buy for thyself, or like the foolish virgins, thou wilt have to cry, "My lamp is gone out." Even the consecrated lamps could not give light without oil; though they shone in the tabernacle they needed to be fed, though no rough winds blew upon them they required to be trimmed, and thy need is equally as great. Under the most happy circumstances thou canst not give light for another hour unless fresh oil of grace be given thee. It was not every oil that might be used in the Lord's service; neither the petroleum which exudes so plentifully from the earth, nor the produce of fishes, nor that extracted from nuts would be accepted; one oil only was selected, and that the best olive oil. Pretended grace from natural goodness, fancied grace from priestly hands, or imaginary grace from outward ceremonies will never serve the true saint of God; he knows that the Lord would not be pleased with rivers of such oil. He goes to the olive-press of Gethsemane, and draws his supplies from Him who was crushed therein. The oil of gospel grace is pure and free from lees and dregs, and hence the light which is fed thereon is clear and bright. Our churches are the Saviour's golden candelabra, and if they are to be lights in this dark world, they must have much holy oil. Let us pray for ourselves, our ministers, and our churches, that they may never lack oil for the light. Truth, holiness, joy, knowledge, love, these are all beams of the sacred light, but we cannot give them forth unless in private we receive oil from God the Holy Ghost.~ Charles Spurgeon
Thank you for this beautiful message!
Wow. Outstanding Joseph. There hasn't been, and most likely never will be another like Charles Spurgeon. His command of the English Language was(Is)truly second to none, and His Annointing without question. Thanks for Sharing.

I was praying yesterday in my prayer room. Pouring to OUR LORD GOD my cries for mercy. And this I ask the LORD GOD:"Are you even there LORD GOD listening to me" And now I know I committed a sin because I am starting to doubt OUR LORD GOD again. I ask forgiveness with all my heart for this word that comes out from my mouth and I know that GOD is so loving and HE forgives me. I am now at peace. The Devil did not win. I repented my sin and I am back to my ever trusting and loving GOD with all my heart. Pastor's Prayer "Heavenly Father, help me stand strong and to see the road ahead clearly. Lead me not into temptation, but deliver me from the evil one. Protect me from my own weaknesses and let me never give Your enemies reason to rejoice. In the name of Jesus Christ I pray.
All the material things of this earth fade away we need to focus on the Lord as he always gives us what we need!
