Buying The Field

  • The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and covered up. Then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field. Matthew 13:44 ESV

Jesus told a parable of a man that found treasure hidden in a field, then he joyfully sold all that he had so that he could buy it and make it his own. He could not take the treasure without buying the entire field, and though it cost him everything, it was absolutely worth it. His total commitment brought him great treasure.

Jesus is a lot like this treasure that was in the field. When you truly get a glimpse of Him, nothing else seems to matter. You will joyfully give up all the things that used to seem so important. The more that you give up for His sake, the more that He will give back in return. I mean the things that He is asking you to change in your life, and not what religious traditions have told you. You may not need to become like them after all to please God.

The Kingdom is free, yet in the end will cost you everything. If you do not let go of the things that hold you back, or that you hold more dear than God, you cannot have the treasure hidden with in it. You have to buy the entire field and the price is great. Stay the course, stay committed, there will be a great reward for those that do.

Carol Pady
Carol Pady He is the potter and we are the clay. I  have lived 61 years  and still have so much to learn from Him. He has brought me to a better place than before yet He will continue to mold me and shape me. He will continue the good work He started in me. Thank God for his continual gleaning, for only through Him can I grow in my Christian walk.

Cheryl Hepler
Cheryl Hepler Talking about letting go for God was a beginning of letting go of people in my life.  A close girlfriend was my first let go.  We drank together.  When she came where I lived with beer she soon found I was not drinking.  Became upset and ran away.  Then my Father thought I joined a cult & my brother.  My Mother was quiet.  The hardest was my children.  This was to the ways of their choices.  I did a lot of praying.  I saw I didn't see change in them but in me.  Strength to do what I couldn't do.  One child blamed God.  Matthew 10 talks of things such as I knew.  God in time healed my heart.  Children are adults and need prayer.

Daryl Page
Daryl Page The thing is if you don't  buy in it will cost even more then you know. Paul said count the cost we think he strictlly meant our cost yet there's more. The Lord has Devine appointments (His will our purpose) that were set up eternity past n if we don't pick up our cross daily we will miss those appointments. N that will cost someone their eternal life. Someone counted the cost n meant you so U could be saved or delivered from bondage Imagine they didn't u or me wouldn't b on this site today. So let's make sure we r there wen our designated person shows up. Share the treasure. One Love. LOG. PD
