Jesus said to them, 'If you were Abraham's children, you would do the works of Abraham. But now you seek to kill me, a man who has told you the truth, which I heard from God. Abraham didn't do this. You do the works of your father.' They said to him, 'We were not born of sexual immorality. We have on...

Early in the morning, while it was still dark, he rose up and went out, and departed into a deserted place, and prayed there. Simon and those who were with him searched for him. They found him and told him, 'Everyone is looking for you.' Mark 1:35 WEBJesus would often withdraw from the noisy crowds ...

The God Who Sustains Me

  • 14 For thus says the LORD, the God of Israel, ‘The jar of flour shall not be spent, and the jug of oil shall not be empty, until the day that the LORD sends rain upon the earth.’” 1Kings 17:14 ESV

Because of a string of bad choices by the leadership of Israel, Ahab and Jezebel, the entire land suffered a famine. It did not rain for years and they could not plant crops in the dry dust. Elijah was sent to stay with a poor widow, who was just about to starve to death herself. He told her the jar of flour and the jug of oil would not go empty until it rained and the little bit that she had fed them all for 3 years.

Our God is a sustaining God and when trouble comes on the earth, He is more than able to take care of those that listen for His voice. He took care of Elijah even when the land that he lived in was undergoing judgement. Stay close to the Lord for He is able to sustain you during hard times. It may not come in the form of something new, but it just may be that what you already have goes a lot further.

The Lord has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and self control (2 Tim 1:7). Do not fear the circumstances that seem to engulf you. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him and put him to flight (Isaiah 59:19 AMP).

Kathy Banfield
Kathy Banfield I agree! Yesterday, I had an MRI because I've been experiencing excruciating migraines. I had to go alnone, and no one was with me throughout the test. I started to cry in that "tunnel" and was feeling sorry for myself--then I recalled Jesus in the Garden of Gesemethe. His friends abandoned HIM, too--and Peter and Judas did WORSE! I started thing of Jesus' words, "Weep not for me, but for yourself and for your children".Yes, JESUS was with me during that MRI yesterday, even if my family or friends couldn't make it themselves!

Tina G FEAR = I don't know how many times I made decisions based on fear. Those are the ones that usually don't turn out so well. On the other hand, when I carry courage along with me and walk thru to the other side, rather than running away, and walk with Gods love I am always surprised with a positive outcome! And I know it is Gods will, not mine:)

Anthony Kulbicki
Anthony Kulbicki Good morning and God bless...thanks for sharing the Word...work is a challenge and with ppl leaving and work increasing, stress levels are increasing. But I know God will provide. I don't fear the days ahead, but look forward to what God is going to do. Pray the Holy Spirit can use us as a conduit to flow into and through to bless those we come into contact with today.

Kathy Banfield Funny thing is, I don't even care what the results of my MRI denote; I have a copy of the disc but never looked at it. I'm really not afraid to die, if it comes to that...we all gotta go sometime! But, I just posted a prayer request for my kids. They don't want to know if I have a brain tumor...or so they claim.Hoever, they WILL need to develop a better relationshop with God and Jesus.Otherwise, they will be devestated if I'm sick! So please pray for Robbie and Patty. THANKS AGAIN!

Joy Sue Callahan I've learned many lessons during my walk with God; this one many times over. While human nature is to fear, the Lord gives us His word and NEVER fails to keep it. For this and much more I am thankful, Praise God!!

Carol Pady
Carol Pady Some of my deepest revelations have come through times of trial. It is then when I feel the necessity for more fasting and prayer. It never fails to provide me hope and encouragement for the Lord's provision. He works everything together for our good! He always answers our prayers with blessings that far exceed what we asked for,( even though we grow impatient if our prayers take awhile to be answered.) When He does answer it is always in His perfect way and perfect timing! Those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength! Praise God for answering prayers!

Sharon Buck
Sharon Buck A reassuring word....we live amongst high-energy "preppers" who are trying to provide for their every need as things get tough, working like dogs to cover themselves and those around them. It's an honorable well-intentioned endeavor, but it's impossible. Only the Lord can help us know what we need to do and how we can look to Him for provision.

Wendy Blake
Wendy Blake I was going back and catching up on my reading and this one really spoke to me. My testimony is something I share with many groups and often I think where was God when all this was happening, but began to realize he was there because he brought me through all those things and better for it today.  I wish some of it I hadn't had to go through, but there is evil in this world and sometimes we get caught up in it, but God is there and he will see you through it for sure!!  I just purchased both your books on Amazon/Kindle and can't wait to start those as well!!
