Isaac entreated Yahweh for his wife, because she was barren. Yahweh was entreated by him, and Rebekah his wife conceived. Genesis 25:21 WEBRebekah was barren and could not have children, but when her husband Isaac prayed for her, she became pregnant with twins. If you read the details, Isaac was for...

Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where He prayed. Mark 1:34 NIVIt was early in the morning as I walked into my little prayer room. After praying for a few minutes I sat in the quiet solitude, mostly wondering how we we...

Then he began to denounce the cities in which most of his mighty works had been done, because they didn't repent. 'Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon which were done in you, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes. Bu...

In God We Trust

  • I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his children begging for bread. Psalm 37:25 WEB

David had been through a lot when he wrote this verse. He had been anointed by Samuel as a young boy and went on to kill lions, bears, and giants. As he grew, David became an experienced shepherd, an accomplished musician, and an excellent soldier.

He had to run and hide from Saul, his own father-in-law, who had become so jealous of David that he sought to kill him. For years, David had to hide in caves, live with Philistines, and the lowest of the low. Those who were outcast from society and in trouble began to gather around him and soon became an army of mighty men.

In time, Saul died and David became king, reigning for forty years. When David passed away, he left Solomon 3,000 talents of gold, and 7,000 talents of silver from his personal treasury to help build the new temple. A talent of gold (75 pounds) in 2016 would be worth around 1.25 million USD.

David began life as a poor shepherd boy, the least in his family, but God took care of him all the way through and he ended well. During that time David wrote that not once did he ever see the righteous forsaken, or his children begging for bread. Though at times things looked bad, there would always be enough to eat when it became needed.

If you serve God, He will take care of you. The things that you suffer will be for your own development. Every child needs discipline and we are no different, but God will provide for His people. So many times in my life, tomorrow looked terrifying, but when it arrived, so did an unexpected blessing that countered the bad. I have put my trust in God. What can man do to me?

Prayer: Father, I thank You for remembering me today and I choose to put my trust in You. Lead me into all that You have for me and teach me what I need to know. Fulfill Your will in my life, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

Khalilah Horton- Spencer
Khalilah Horton- Spencer Good Morning Pastor Todd, this scripture has encouraged my soul just now, my aunt has been battling a condition and its been a long road for my family. But we are still believing God.  Today's scripture is right on. I never seen the righteous forsaken, oh I believe that. The law of confession is very important and I know God is with us. Please keep my aunt uplifted in prayer. Your daily devotions really help me. I pray God's blessings be upon you and yours. Thank- you!

Carol Pady
Carol Pady Amen! Jehovah Jireh, ( Yahweh will Provide), is one of God's names. So many times we fail to remember that. God wll provide. Period. If we let that absorb into us and understand that this name of God speaks truth of His nature, for God is not slack in His promises, Luke 12:24 - "Consider the ravens: they neither sow nor reap, they have neither storehouse nor barn, and yet God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds!" Genesis 3:21 - And the LORD God made for Adam and for his wife garments of skins and clothed them. Exodus 14:22 - And the people of Israel went into the midst of the sea on dry ground, the waters being a wall to them on their right hand and on their left. Job 38:41 - Who provides for the raven its prey, when its young ones cry to God for help, and wander about for lack of food? Psalms 34:10 - The young lions suffer want and hunger; but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing. Genesis 9:3 - Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you. And as I gave you the green plants, I give you everything. Matthew 6:31-32 - Therefore do not be anxious, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all.

Sylvia Froese
Sylvia Froese I am having my trust stretched today and it is painful. God had told me twice he wanted me to apply to Masters in Marriage and Family Therepy. After a 1.5 year process and applying twice now, first time my application was lost and the second application I just found out has been declined to enter Masters. I know the competition is fierce to get in. I gave it my all because I was doing it for God. Following him. I am feeling quite broken up about this. I need to trust Him but I find it really hard to trust today since pain is so fresh. Later maybe I will see why it happened in this way. Right now it is too hard. I guess just because you do what he tells you to do, doesn't mean it will work out.

Cheryl Hepler
Cheryl Hepler Hi Sylvia,  how frustrating it sounds with great disappointment.  I recall trying several times to go to college.  A certain field also.  I cried each time.  I basically said, Lord, it is not working & I am wondering/thinking you have some other plans.  I stayed SS before, being a Mom, to do that.  I was a wife too do another plan He had in mind.  Just let go.  Also thought it is either down the road or something other plan.  A lot of things taught & experienced can be used for the Lord I thought.  In time it happened in different ministeries.  Rewarding & Blessed.  Then a day came over years it all stopped in my case do to illnesses.  Met a lot of people (mostly women) in this time to be of some help or blessing.  One was taking a woman to her chemo.  We got close.  I enjoyed her.  She had care of a certain wayward daughter I could pray for & with her.  She asked me to be in office for a specialist before her last Christmas.  I felt honored.  She had other friends.  Her husband was at work.  The news was it spread to her brain.  I learned soo much being with her learning how with the Lord she accepted it.  She said no treatment till after Christmas with her family.  When it came time to do chemo we went but tests showed more advancement.  No she said.  She received pain help & was with her family till hospice.  I talked on the phone to her one day & she was silly & happy.  Maybe med yet I enjoyed her so much that day it cannot be expressed!  God taught me more then I imagined.  God is always teaching & using us.  There are days I say, Lord, anything I can do?  I add up all I have & stop.  In Nov I will be 70 so I like this passage today in the message.  Blessings to you!
