The God who made the world and all things in it, he, being Lord of heaven and earth, doesn't dwell in temples made with hands, neither is he served by men's hands, as though he needed anything, seeing he himself gives to all life and breath, and all things. Acts 17:24 WEBWhen I was growing up, we us...

RHM Devotional: Heroes and Monsters from Refreshing Hope Ministries on Vimeo. Today I want to talk about the potential of being a Hero, or a Monster, that exists inside each one of us. We get to choose. Once when Jesus was preaching from a boat, He told a parable about a man that sowed wheat in H...

He said to them, 'Go into all the world, and preach the gospel to the whole creation.' Mark 16:15 WEBJesus spoke these words to the eleven Apostles before He ascended to heaven. There is so much that could be said about this, but today we cover 'The Gospel.' The word Gospel means 'glad tidings, good...

The Power Edge

  • For I also am a man placed under authority, having under myself soldiers. I tell this one, 'Go!' and he goes; and to another, 'Come!' and he comes; and to my servant, 'Do this,' and he does it.' When Jesus heard these things, he marveled at him, and turned and said to the multitude who followed him, 'I tell you, I have not found such great faith, no, not in Israel.' Those who were sent, returning to the house, found that the servant who had been sick was well. Luke 7:9 WEB

We once bought a huge server on eBay and had to pay over a hundred dollars in shipping charges. It was a Dell Power Edge R900 and weighed 92 pounds. When I unpacked it and started it up, it immediately died with processor failure. I tried everything that a technician would do during the day like reseating the processors and memory banks, but it continued to die with the same failure each time.

I called their tech support and they walked me through a few things over the phone, then decided that we would need to ship it back to them. When I got off the phone, I sat down and stared it frustrated and dreading shipping it back. Something in me said 'pray' so I laid hands on the computer and prayed over it a moment. I pressed the start button again and it worked perfectly. It is still in use today. Christians have their own power edge, praying in the name of Jesus.

While Jesus was on the way to the Centurion's house, they brought Him word that He did not have to come, but merely speak the word because the Centurion recognized the chain of command. He believed that if Jesus gave the command, that his servant would be healed just as if he told a soldier to do something and they did it.

Faith is the complete trust or confidence in someone or something. Jesus was amazed at the Centurion's great faith. While in His own hometown, Jesus was amazed at their lack of faith (Mark 6:6). These are the only records of Jesus being amazed at something in scripture. Faith is the currency of heaven. When you pray, believe. True faith builds over time just like trust in a relationship. In my life, I find that faith often builds more in the workplace than in church for our God is 'Super Natural'.

Prayer: Father, speak to me in a way that I understand and show Yourself mighty in my life. Let me be a beacon of hope to those around me and walk in Your power and anointing, right here, and right now, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

Kath Paro
Kath Paro Dion~ I really connected with this one this morning.  It applies to all my "sicknesses" since 2002.  With each illness I fought with it to no avail, then turned it over and God helped me heal.  It is truly amazing what our God can do when we let him.  My faith has grown day by day since 2002, leaps and bounds since I broke my clavicle!  Bless you Dion!

Twila Stierwalt
Twila Stierwalt Amen,Kath. I to have had a lot of health issues the last few years, and this has been the most blessed time in my life. God has taught me how to trust Him and turn all this over to Him. This season of my life has tought me so much about my Heavenly Father and new ways to serve Him that I would never have done, had I not had these health issues. I thank God that He is in control.

Twila Stierwalt
Twila Stierwalt I do know if it is God's will, He will do wonderious things in our lives. I do know that believing is faith in action. We birth faith by knowing the One we believe. and we walk faith by beliving the One we know. The more we know,  the more we will believe Him. The more we chose to believe Him, the more we will get to know Him.

Chris Dibbern
Chris Dibbern Thank you, Pastor Dion, for another uplifting story, just as I needed it. I have been seeing the Holy Spirit show up in big ways, at work, lately. Yet, if I neglect church (and I know you're not saying that), I see blessing lifted-- only to be restored when I come back, whereupon I again notice this inexplicable blanket of grace and peace over my life! I concluded--from observation, not theory--that a healthy, faithful church prays over itself, and by attending, I get to participate in the blessings imparted by those who include ".. and for my church.." in their daily prayers! :-) If I make a habit (not just skipping once or twice, but a habit) of not attending, well... are they still my church? Natural consequences. :-)God rebukes and disciplines those He loves. (Heb 12:6) May God bless you all!

Janet Marsh-Lord Heide I don't think you need to worry. With No 4 baby it will be natural for you and you will be fine. Pray each day for God to help you through the day and I'm sure you will be amazing. It will be very busy for you but I know how fast time goes. My 4 children are now all grown up with their own families and it seems just like yesterday they were my little babies. Try and enjoy the time with your children and if possible have a rest when they do. I'm sure you'll be wonderful. xx

I asked him if he had prayed about it and then took the bolt lose easyly.  I praise my Lord all the day long.  His presence is vital to our walk.
