As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desir...

He entered into one of the boats, which was Simon's, and asked him to put out a little from the land. He sat down and taught the multitudes from the boat. The Car Wash

  • Jesus answered him, 'If I don't wash you, you have no part with me.' Simon Peter said to him, 'Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head!' Jesus said to him, 'Someone who has bathed only needs to have his feet washed, but is completely clean. You are clean, but not all of you.' For he knew him who would betray him, therefore he said, 'You are not all clean.' John 13:8 WEB

After spending most of my Saturday detailing our car, it looked great. I washed, waxed, leather conditioned, and gave it the works inside and out. Then after a week of sitting there, even though it had not been driven, it started to become dirty again. A cat walked across the hood, it turned green with pollen. It needed washing again because that is the natural course.

So it is with us, we lay our burdens and bondages down and then slowly pick them back up. Our 'feet' get dirty again. Be quick to repent of things that you know you did wrong or the enemy will use that as a foot hold and cause it to grow into bondage or a heavy burden once again. God already knows it, but it will do you good to get it off your chest. Sin is not a popular subject these days, but the Bible has a lot to teach about it, and it is always bad.

'This is the message which we have heard from him and announce to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with him and walk in the darkness, we lie, and don't tell the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ, his Son, cleanses us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us' (1 John 1:5'8).

Religion without morality is just an illusion. Willful sin will be always a barrier to fellowship with God, or satan and God would still be friends (Ps. 5:4; 66:18; Isa. 59:1'2). What fellowship can light have with darkness? (2 Cor. 6:14).

Just as the car, it is not once clean, always clean. Peter wrote 'But it has happened to them according to the true proverb, The dog turns to his own vomit again, and 'the sow that had washed to wallowing in the mire' (2 Peter 2:22). Is your life different than it was before you met Jesus?

In this scripture the dog got rid of the bad things inside of them, but then went back to it. The sow got rid of the bad things on the outside, but then returned to wallow in the mud. God underwrites a person's deliberate choice with 'As you wish.'

The good news is that nothing that you have ever done can separate you from God when you repent of it. It allows Jesus to wash us clean. Repentance means to turn away from it, to say that you are sorry, to try and not do it any more. Keep a short list with the Lord and the enemy will not be able to use it against you.

Prayer: Father I thank You for forgiveness and I am sorry for the things that I have done wrong. Wash me and I will be clean, deliver me and I will be free. Guide me and I will follow, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

Barbara Miramon Why doesn't Satan repent to God for his wrong doing?   Can you imagine our world like this? Without the daily confusion, bitterness, and temptation?

Deleted Member That would be awesome if satan could return to Jesus and live for Him, but in his case, satan has just gone too far, he has gone beyond forgiveness, because in his mind, he is god and no one or nothing is greater than him now or will ever be, he has no sorrow for what he has done and he never will. But it would have been an awesome place to live without satan having destroyed his life and tries to destroys so many lives everyday. We just have to keep praying for those out there that satan has entangled in his world and ask Jesus to help them, to let them see that they need Jesus more than the world and that if they accept Jesus as their Savior, then satan has to flee and no longer can bring them to his level of destruction. Because satan is a destructive being for anyone if they allow him in their lives, but we can pray everyday for all lost souls, believing for them to come to know Jesus as their Savior.  God bless you and have a blessed weeked. Keep on keeping on for Jesus because He loves us so much.

Kath Paro
Kath Paro Dion~ This is a powerful message.  I cannot really connect with it this morning.  I am dealing with an issue with my husband,  I am trying to figure out if I have followed God's will or Kath's will.  We have a situation where Steve is quite upset and I can't identify my feelings yet.  I am very wrapped up in my own thinking that I don't know if I am letting God in or not or if I'm letting satan have free rein in my head.  It will get straightened out now that I've shared it.  Blessings to you Dion.

Carol Pady Kath sometimes when I am not sure if I have caused an offense, by something I said or did, I simply ask with love is there something I did that offended you? If so than please forgive me , that was not my intention. Sometimes it is simply because it convicted that person and sometimes I did unintentionally offend. It is always best to speak with love for a soft answer turns away wrath. I will pray all is resolved. God bless you Kath.

Cheryl Hepler
Cheryl Hepler Hello Kath,  In counseling long back I was taught it was good to take time out when heat arises.  To pray & ask God for help.  If anything comes to mind I needed to ask God for forgiveness then I did.  Maybe not always seeing eye to eye will be   the thing I hope for yet I notice often eventually something come about that works for both.  Also choosing to ask for forgiveness if necessary.  I ask God to prompt me some how if needed.  I don't like strife it makes the air so stale & uncomfortable.  I know God cares & look to Him as I wait.   Blessings to you Kath!

God bless each and everyone today and I pray all have an amazing and blessed weekend and that Jesus has blessings abundantly for everyone.

Carol Pady Amen! No matter how hard we try to not sin, we will fail. Things slip out of your mouth or you over indulge in something, etc.. The closer I am to my Abba Father the sooner I feel that conviction and the quicker I say forgive me Father. Then I can move forward knowing He has forgiven and wiped the slate clean. No matter how close we are to Him , we will always fall short of the glory of God. We can even sin through omission, when we fail to do something that we know He would have us do. There is no way to live a perfect life, but we can be perfectly forgiven, everytime we ask. Thank you Father for the blood of the lamb that washed the sins away!

Twila Stierwalt
Twila Stierwalt I am so thankful that God has given me the Holy Spirit to live in me, to teach me all truth, and that Jesus died, and rose again only once for my sin's, and has forgivin me all of my sin's, and will never remember them any more. Now it is my choice to have a intimate relationship with my LORD, my creator. Being in His word is vital to having this relationship. I am a sheep and God is my sheperd. He will give me hinds feet so I won't slip on the rocks, and I can clime to the hights He wants me to go. I thank God that I have Gods ressurection power in me, and that is a lot of power.

Cheryl Hepler Yes, I strive to keep my feet clean so the old boy doesn't take hold of me.  Even a mood wants to come sometimes over my thoughts & I feel sad about it affecting my relationship with the Lord.  My lower nature wants to skip a moment with the Lord & do something else. Tugging to war against my thoughts to commune with the Lord.  Grateful knowing which choice to make.   Pastor, your car wash sounds so great I wish I live nearby

Heidi Chiandussi I have a question ....or more like a problem ...i work in sales for a big company ...i was asked to not always to tell the truth because my co workers do not take there job as serious as i do ...i would like that the customer is to 100 %happy with his choise ....i do get upset when others mess up ..because i my pay has a variable .i earn only when i sell ...i have such a high standard in what is right ! But this moral is not bringing me ahead ...people at work dont like me because of this ...but this is only at work ..is it wrong to be honest ?? Is it wrong that you want to be truthful ??

Julia Bailey
Julia Bailey No it is not wrong to be honest.. One of the ten commandments is that we should not tell untruths.  Being honest is not always the most popular action to man, but it is for Jesus.  Read the Bible and follow the direction of Jesus; turn everything over to the Lord.
