Today is a magical day full of wonder and opportunity. It is the first day of the rest of your life. From this very moment nothing is set in stone. Today doesn't have to be another yesterday. It can be something new, fresh, and beautiful.

(Lamentations 3:22-23 NKJV)  Through the LORD’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.

Today is a blank slate ready for you to begin. I saw a wonderful quote recently:

Start where you are.
Use what you have.
Do what you can.
- Arthur Ashe

Even if you are living in a cardboard box underneath an overpass, this applies. This is a magical moment. The second that everything changed for the better. When you connected with God Almighty, the Creator of the universe and you will never be the same.

You have to realize that you are not alone, for the Holy Spirit dwells inside of you. Spirit, "pneuma," is the breath of God that He breathed into Adam.

(Genesis 2:7 NKJV)  And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.

The Holy Spirit is literally in the air we breathe around us. Look at how Jesus gave the Holy Spirit to His Apostles.

(John 20:21-22 NKJV)  So Jesus said to them again, "Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you." And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, "Receive the Holy Spirit."

That means the Spirit of the astounding, amazing, awesome Almighty God lives inside of us — right now, wherever we are. The original Mr. Incredible goes anywhere we go. He goes with us to church. He goes with us to the pub.

This is a magic moment. A fresh start free from the stains and strains of the past. What will you do with it?

Remember, the LORD has a plan and purpose for you. Many of us look at ourselves and feel tiny, but the LORD's power is made perfect in weak vessels like us. The Apostle Paul learned this:

(2 Corinthians 12:8-9 NKJV)  ... And He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness." Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

The LORD loves to use the least of the least to display His power. That is how the LORD chose Gideon, Moses, Jeremiah, David, even the Apostles of Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 1:26-29). You know the word "uneducated" appears only once in Scripture and is referencing Peter and John?

(Acts 4:13 NKJV)  Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marveled. And they realized that they had been with Jesus.

Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can. You don’t need a diploma, a bank account, or a five-year plan to get started — you just need to stand up. And sometimes that’s the hardest part of the whole thing. The enemy doesn’t care what you do once you’re moving. He just wants to keep you flat on your back, staring at the ceiling, convinced tomorrow will look exactly like today did.

But it doesn’t have to.

Faith isn’t a feeling you wait around for. It’s a decision you act on. For example, if someone told you they would meet you outside the bank at 10 AM, would you believe them enough to go meet them? I know some people I would believe and some I wouldn't. Do you believe in God enough that it affects the way you live?

This is a magic moment. Not because everything’s fixed, not because the past is erased — but because right now, this second, you get to decide what happens next. Every sunrise the Lord hands you is a fresh mercy, not a rerun of yesterday. You don’t have to carry today what happened last year, last week, or five minutes ago into tomorrow. Lay it down. Take His hand.

Walk with Him — not so far behind you lose sight of Him, not so far ahead you get out of step with Him. Just beside Him, one day at a time. That’s it. That’s the whole assignment.

Have faith in God. Let Him breathe new life into you the same way He breathed it into Adam. This moment — this exact one you’re standing in right now — is magic because His mercies are new every single morning, and today, He’s given you a fresh one. What are you going to do with it?
