For it is precept on precept, precept on precept; line on line, line on line; here a little, there a little. Isaiah 28:10 WEB.We had scattered pieces all over the table while we worked on assembling a jigsaw puzzle. It was a total mess. This one was mysteriously difficult, for someone had mistakenly...

God is my rock in whom I take refuge; my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge. My savior, you save me from violence. 2 Samuel 22:3 WEB.David sang this the day the Lord delivered him from all his enemies. Where others saw nothing, David could see the work of the Lord thr...

In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. The peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are ...

Get Up And Go

  • Yahweh said to Joshua, Get you up; why are you thus fallen on your face? Joshua 7:10 WEB

Joshua lay on his face before the Lord while praying. Israel had sinned and as a result, they had lost the battle at the small town of Ai. The first town that they had come to in the promised land was Jericho. The walls fell down after marching around it seven times, and it was not a difficult battle.

They were supposed to bring all the loot into the Lord's treasury, but a man named Achan took some of the loot, kept it for himself and the Lord withdrew from Israel. Where they had taken Jericho almost without a fight, the small town of Ai beat them and made them retreat.

When the Lord answered Joshua, it was basically 'Get up, make it right, and let's go forward!' God gave Joshua no time to lay there and dwell on the past mistakes and events that happened. They dealt with Achan and went and took the city.

Many times in my life, I have stumbled, turned back and wandered away from God. Each time after I returned and prayed, it was exactly like this: 'ok, now let's go forward!' God is always calling you into your future, into your destiny. The devil is always calling you into your past, reminding you of your mistakes, and giving you feelings of shame.

Your past is gone, so let it go. Today is the first day of the rest of your life and God has a plan for you, a destiny to fulfill. Don't live in your past mistakes, meditating on how much time has been wasted. When you dwell on those, you are siding with the enemy. Let this sink in: God talks about your future. The devil talks about your past.

Prayer: Father, thank You for all that You do for me. Draw my heart to You and give me the will to keep getting up when I stumble. Thank You for Your mercy. Lead me into all that You have for me, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

Janet Clary
Janet Clary Pastor Dion, we all need to post this somewhere in our home!!  Satan loves a loser and when we sit and do nothing, he rejoices.  The Lord knows that I have given up many times in my life or allowed another person to convience me that I should stop and quit doing what I want to do for myself.  Allowing someone to make you feel worthless is the negative stop sign to failure!!   You and our First Lady have taught me that no matter how hard of a struggle we have had in our past, look to God and the light on the road ahead!!  Never be afraid to fall because God is always there to catch us and walk with us to be better Christians.  Moving forward can only provide one thing- a closer love for the Lord and a new journey in the days ahead.  Thanks for reminding me that positive love from the Lord is always here because he wants us to succeed at the life He has for us.  :)  Hugs, Janet

Kath Paro
Kath Paro Dion~ Good message!  Again it reminds me of past events.  What of your messages hasn't?  I suddenly realized this morning, duh Kath that is his job!  And here I thought I was all better!  I am a work in progress and will be forever.  I will never be done until I join my Higher Power and become one of His angels.  The devil has had free boarding in my head for a loooong time.  It is time to say ta ta and let Him take residence.  I can remember my past but not let it engulf me and cause guilt, shame, remorse, etc.   Just learn from it.  Today I chose my Higher Power and walk in His path and go forward with my head held high.  Thank you my God almighty!

Sharon Peterson
Sharon Peterson That is so true. The devil wants to keep you  dwelling in your mistakes of the past.    Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead,  I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:13-14

Janet Marsh-Lord
Janet Marsh-Lord I have looked back on things in my life that I have regretted instead of leaving them with God and moving forward. I try not to do this but sometimes the old memories come to the surface to unsettle and upset me. Thank you Lord that we can give all our troubles to you and we can move forward with your Blessings and love.
