For it is precept on precept, precept on precept; line on line, line on line; here a little, there a little. Isaiah 28:10 WEB.We had scattered pieces all over the table while we worked on assembling a jigsaw puzzle. It was a total mess. This one was mysteriously difficult, for someone had mistakenly...

Zero to Hero

  • And he said to him, Please, Lord, how can I save Israel? Behold, my clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my fathers house. 16 And the LORD said to him, But I will be with you, and you shall strike the Midianites as one man. Judg. 6:15-16 ESV

Gideon was the least in his family who was the poorest clan in Manasseh. God chose him to lead a group of three hundred men and defeat a vast Midianite army whose camels could not even be counted. Gideon was scared, hopelessly outnumbered, and outside of God, had nothing going for him. It turned out that when he had just God, it was more than enough.

When the battle started, the enemies turned on each other and then ran. After the battle, there were forty years of peace. Gideon, with the help of God, made it happen. God likes to show His power strong in the weak and humble. Moses was the meekest man on the earth during his life (Num 12:3), David was the least of his family (1 Sam 16:11). Even Jesus was born in a stable (Luke 2:7). They were world changers.

Today you may be the least of the family and feel the weakest, but God can make you go from zero to hero. If you follow His leading, no thing or no one can hold you back. He is more than enough. So we can confidently say, The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me? (Hebrews 13:56 ESV)
