Early in the morning, while it was still dark, he rose up and went out, and departed into a deserted place, and prayed there. Simon and those who were with him searched for him. They found him and told him, "Everyone is looking for you." Mark 1:35-37 WEB.
Jesus often withdrew from the noisy crowds to be alone with His Heavenly Father in prayer. Here, He chose His Apostles, refreshed His strength, prepared for the coming day, and got His next mission. Prayer and listening were His morning update.
Jesus' life was not without its struggles while He was on Earth. He was tested in every way, just as we are, but He passed every test (Hebrews 4:15). Jesus earned the saying, "Worthy is the Lamb." It wasn't merely given to Him. Part of it involved praying hard and regularly.
We often get caught up in the day's hustle and bustle and slowly fall apart under stress. Yet, if we can get alone and spend some time in prayer, those things will fix themselves and begin to fall into place. God will help us take care of it, but we still need to ask Him. James said we have not because we ask not (James 4:2).
When you don't know the answer, the Lord does. When you don't have the resources, He does. When you feel lost and don't know what to do next, He does. When no one else on earth cares about you, He does.
So no matter how busy you get today, set aside some time for prayer so you can refresh your spirit and get your morning update. You build yourself up by praying (Jude 20). Jesus teaches us to pray always and not give up (Luke 18:1). Spending time with God will provide the answer to the questions you will face today.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I thank You for all You do for me. Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! Please walk with me and talk with me today. Help me learn to recognize Your voice and to know when You are leading me. In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen!
Note: Happy Sunday! For those who would like to join us, today we will be hosting our RHM Live Online church service. This is a special time of interactive worship, prayer, fellowship and an inspiring message. All are welcome! The service starts at 10am EDT. Here is the link to join: RHM Live
Site update #586: I completed a large update to the Audio Library on the left sidebar. There is now a live service archive of all past services, full-length in case you miss a service and want to catch up, as well as all of our original music. You can download the .mp3 files directly to your device now to listen when you don't have internet. I also added a pop-out player so you can listen without remaining on the page. Give it a try and let me know if you have any problems. 😀

Dear God, Thank You for being Holy, forgiving, merciful and mighty! Your gift of wisdom and leading, I ultimately need and will always need. Yes, I will seek You every day & night, and I will open my ears to study Your Word more, lift my face more and more, to Your glorious face and voice, as I gladly, praise Your holy name through all situations and plans You have for me, my family! You are so good to watch over us, and want to give me inner strength and clarity! I am secure in You, humbled in how You desire a relationship with me, I trust in You! In Jesus name I pray, Amen!

sounds great. I know that will be useful for me...need to write that down. Hope the Todd family have a blessed Saturday and Sunday. I do believe God gave us those 2 special days for His sake and our sake! Work hard or volunteer (myself) hard through the week. We get our rewards here on Earth and rewards in Heaven.
