John answered them, 'I baptize in water, but among you stands one whom you don't know. He is the one who comes after me, who is preferred before me, whose sandal strap I'm not worthy to loosen.' These things were done in Bethany beyond the Jordan, where John was baptizing. The next day, he saw Jesus...

As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desir...

He entered into one of the boats, which was Simon's, and asked him to put out a little from the land. He sat down and taught the multitudes from the boat. When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, 'Put out into the deep, and let down your nets for a catch.' Simon answered him, 'Master, we wor...

The Apple Tree

  • For there is no good tree that brings forth rotten fruit; nor again a rotten tree that brings forth good fruit. For each tree is known by its own fruit. For people don't gather figs from thorns, nor do they gather grapes from a bramble bush. Luke 6:43 WEB

We find it humorous when we get cut off in traffic by a rude driver and they have a Christian fish symbol on their bumper. At other times, we see that repairman who just charged you twice what he should have, has one on his card, so you are supposed to forgive him for ripping you off.

Sometimes we are like an lemon tree that repeatedly shouts, "I AM AN APPLE TREE!", but we never produce any apples, only lemons. Jesus said that you will know a tree by its fruit. If we want to show the world that we are different, it really should be by our actions and not just by an outward appearance. When under pressure, our mouth always betrays us and reveals what is in our heart.

Jesus said 'A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, just like I have loved you; that you also love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another' (John 13:34).

Small things are big to God, and often the things that we think are big, are small to Him. It is the small things that make the difference in life. Sometimes just a little patience, a smile, or taking a little less for yourself is the difference between producing apples and being barren.

Prayer: Father, help me to produce fruit in my life and guide me into all that You have for me. Forgive me of the things that I do wrong. Have patience with me and help me to have patience with others, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

Karen Pasquinelliedited: January 27, 2016 Amen!! Over 30 years ago I started praying for patience, and oh boy did I get tested, but now I am patient.  When I take hubby to see his doctor he is always so impatient waiting and I always tell him have patience.  We have nothing else to do, we have the time to wait.  Whenever he says what's taking them so long, I say be patient, they will be here.  You are not the only one.  I have learned when you have patience you have no stress.  By the way I quit praying for patience too much came my way to make me patient....lol

Twila Stierwalt
Twila Stierwalt Amen! pastor Dion.  God created each of us different, and we all have different gifts, to serve God. God could just make us all do what He wants us to do, but He wants us to have a relationship with him and to use the gifts He gave us for us to serve each other. Patience with others is so important, because it gives God time to change our hearts and others hearts.
