The God who made the world and all things in it, he, being Lord of heaven and earth, doesn't dwell in temples made with hands, neither is he served by men's hands, as though he needed anything, seeing he himself gives to all life and breath, and all things. Acts 17:24 WEBWhen I was growing up, we us...

RHM Devotional: Heroes and Monsters from Refreshing Hope Ministries on Vimeo. Today I want to talk about the potential of being a Hero, or a Monster, that exists inside each one of us. We get to choose. Once when Jesus was preaching from a boat, He told a parable about a man that sowed wheat in H...

The What if

  • Which of you by being anxious can add a cubit to his height? If then you aren't able to do even the least things, why are you anxious about the rest? Luke 12:25 WEB

We were so concerned about tomorrow that we could not sleep. We had received a subpoena late that evening and had to appear in court at seven in the morning, but so many things ran through our mind that we watched the sun go down and then come back up. It was all for nothing, and the case was thrown out. God came through, but I had worn myself down from worrying.

Today has arrived and it is the tomorrow that you worried about yesterday. It is here now, and if you are reading this, you are still here as well. So many times in my life I have been worried about the 'What if?', only to find that it came to nothing. God took care of it overnight, or I faced it and it became part of my testimony that I share with others.

When you dwell on what may come out of this, it will grow bigger and consume you. What you feed will grow, fear or faith. Face today's problems and leave tomorrow alone. Grace is given when you need it, not in advance. You will have the grace to deal with tomorrow when it gets here. Whenever you feeling like saying 'What if?', make it into: "What if God takes care of it?"

Prayer: Father I pray that You move in my life, show Yourself strong, deliver me from the things that hold me back. Fulfill Your will in my life and protect me from those that seek to do me harm, in the name of Jesus Christ.

Note: Good morning! For those involved with the Haven of Hope group, the topic of the week has been posted. It is called "Inspect...and Reflect" and is a powerful testimony to help overcome the drama in life that often comes with abusive situations. You can find it in the Discussion area of the group page. God bless!

David and Dianna Wyles
David and Dianna Wyles I am the queen of anxious over nothing! I am working on it though! Yesterday I was so anxious over news of my sister in law's health scare. The thought of cancer taking another loved one really freaks me out! But the Lord is good! He heard our cry out and it is not cancer! Praise Jehovah! She has a long road back to health but the road is there! God provided a way! Hallelujah! Thank you RHM family for praying with me and helping to calm me down and give it to God! Pastor's Prayer: Father I pray that You move in my life, show Yourself strong, deliver me from the things that hold me back. Fulfill Your will in my life and protect me from those that seek to do me harm, in the name of Jesus Christ.

Deleted Member I sure know how you feel, Dorene, I have to remind myself of this all the time, because sometimes when that worry and fear tries to take over it puts me in a state of mind, that I feel like I can't go forward, almost like I am stuck in time and the clock won't move. Thank you for sharing your testimony, it so helped me. Love and Prayers. God bless  you.

Carol Pady
Carol Pady Amen!  I used to worry about tomorrow.  I found it only made me not enjoy today. I have learned to make every day the best that I can. Instead of dwelling on prayers unanswered,  I choose to be content in today's circumstances.  It took me awhile to get here but I enjoy life more and everyday is a gift.

Kathy Banfield
Kathy Banfield Oh how I can relate! The things I worry most about turn out to be nothing, and I've lost precious sleep because of useless worrying.Just recently, God performed a small miracle for me. I'm still in awe that this specific prayer was answered immediatly. Yes, our Lord really does listen!

Deleted Member Amen, yes He always listens and He will always meet our needs and be right on time, even though there are times I too, have lost a lot of sleep over worrying or anxiety or depression, but not one time has Jesus ever failed me, He always came through for me in all of my needs. God bless you. Love and Hugs and Prayers.

Deleted Member I pray that, I will not give into fear, and the what if's, because I know I have had many times felt this way and the next day came and went and all was well. Thank you for this message, I use to live with the what if's all the time, worrying and still there are some days that the fear tries to come upon me and I try to go forward by looking back at where Jesus has brought me. God bless you for this awesome message, it surely touched home with me today, because for a few weeks that old fear has tried to sneak back in and make me worry over every little thing.  Please keep me in your prayers. Love and blessings to you and Sylvia.

Karen Pasquinelli
Karen Pasquinelli Matthew 6:25-34New International Version (NIV) This has helped me I hope and pray it helps you Tamara.  God Bless you and yours.  Love and Hugs. Do Not Worry 25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life

Karen Pasquinelli
Karen Pasquinelliedited: January 14, 2016 Amen!!  On Tuesday I had to go down to husband's Doctor office with some paperwork to apply for help in paying Doctor bill.  I had to bring both our SS statements that say how much we get.  I prayed about it that morning before I left and on the way there.  I handed the girl all the paperwork and after a bit she handed me back my SS statement and said we are just going to use his.  I asked what the cost would be if she used mine too and she said 90% and then I said now what is it and she said 30%.  What a huge difference.  I asked her if she would get into trouble doing what she did and she said "no, don't worry about it"...on the way home I prayed to God to Bless this young lady.  We tried doing this at the hospital and they took both incomes and because of that we made $45.00 a month too much for Medicad.  Fortunately God answered my prayers about the hospital bill and it was paid by a charity, otherwise it would have cost us $175 Thousand Dollars, which we do not have.  No hubby doesn't have insurance and until March of 2017 he doesn't get Medicare.  I told hubby if we had to pay the hospital we just pay what we can each month, I don't care about the money it is not important, but he is.
