Consider the lilies, how they grow. They don't toil, neither do they spin; yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. But if this is how God clothes the grass in the field, which today exists and tomorrow is cast into the oven, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith? "Don't seek what you will eat or what you will drink; neither be anxious. For the nations of the world seek after all of these things, but your Father knows that you need these things. But seek God's Kingdom, and all these things will be added to you. Luke 12:27-31 WEB.
God made Adam and Eve clothing in Genesis 3:21 right after they broke the only commandment He had given them. Parents are funny like that. Children can misbehave, cry, whine, complain, and want everything bad for them. Yet, the parents will still clothe them the best they can because they love them.
The Lord Jesus was crucified so that He could clothe us in righteousness. He put on our dirty sin-covered clothing at the cross and covered us in His gleaming white robe of righteousness. Jesus died on the cross while spiritually wearing the sin of the universe. When we make Him Lord of our life, we put on His gleaming white robe of righteousness. Jesus gave us a fresh start, a new beginning, an undo button called "Repentance" that removes our sin from us.
"Come now, and let's reason together," says Yahweh: "Though your sins are as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow. Though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool" (Isaiah 1:18 WEB).
No matter what you have done today, God loves you, and He wants to take care of You. He has provided you with new clothing and taken your past away with all the dirty laundry. Our checkered history only exists in our memories, not His. Every saint has a past. Every sinner has a future.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I thank You for letting me wake up again today. Thank You for the clothes that I have to wear. You have taken care of me and brought me this far, and for that, I am truly thankful. Please open the doors that You want me to step through and fulfill Your will in my life. In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen!
