The Everlasting Razor

You gave also your good Spirit to instruct them, and didn't withhold your manna from their mouth, and gave them water for their thirst. Yes, forty years you sustained them in the wilderness. They lacked nothing. Their clothes didn't grow old, and their feet didn't swell. Nehemiah 9:20-21 WEB.

When the Israelites came out of Egypt, the Lord gave them His Spirit to teach them. He provided them food, water and sustained them in every way. For forty years, they lacked nothing. Their clothes did not wear out, and there were no diseases found among them. That was amazing, but will God still do things like that today?

I had a very dear friend that used the same disposable razor for decades because it never wore out. It was an unusual but practical gift from the Lord. Whenever the razor started to lose its edge, she would just say a prayer over it, and it would become like new again.

It was just a small gift God gave her because she took the time to ask Him. She prayed over her razor and continued to use it until she passed away twenty-three years later. Never once did it nick her. It was such a small thing, yet it deeply affected her life, for that confidence in the sustaining power of the Lord grew.

The mighty hand of God can sustain you. He can give you everything that you need in this life and in the life to come. He alone knows what tomorrow will bring, but we have to believe He will be there with us. He will sustain us. His Spirit will teach us what we need to know, and sometimes the things we already have may just last longer.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I pray that You cause my resources to last longer and go farther. Help me make the right decisions in my life. Please teach me the things that I need to learn and cover me with Your presence today. In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen!
