The man said, 'They have left here, for I heard them say, 'Let's go to Dothan.' ' Joseph went after his brothers, and found them in Dothan. They saw him afar off, and before he came near to them, they conspired against him to kill him. They said to one another, 'Behold, this dreamer comes. Come now ...

Brothers, I don't regard myself as yet having taken hold, but one thing I do: forgetting the things which are behind, and stretching forward to the things which are before, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:13 WEBI was at a very dark p...

Sharks in Suits

  • Brothers, even if a man is caught in some fault, you who are spiritual must restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness; looking to yourself so that you also aren't tempted. Galatians 6:1 WEB

We all make mistakes and not one of us down here has lived a perfect life except for Jesus. So we are all in this together comparing each other with a scale of righteousness from 1-10, when it would take 1,000,000 to get into heaven. We all need Jesus because our own righteousness is as filthy rags (Isa. 64:6).

When a shark is injured in the wild, their own friends and family may turn on them. This is the way that sharks behave when there is blood in the water. A feeding frenzy takes place, and they devour them with their mouths.

Often when a Christian stumbles, the pack turns on them and starts ripping them to shreds by gossip. Somehow we feel better about ourselves by making them look bad. Maybe our righteousness is now bumped up to a 4 because we don't even do that, yet. That 'yet' word is the difficult part.

'But Jesus stooped down, and wrote on the ground with his finger. But when they continued asking him, he looked up and said to them, 'He who is without sin among you, let him throw the first stone at her.' Again he stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground. They, when they heard it, being convicted by their conscience, went out one by one, beginning from the oldest, even to the last' (John 8:6'9).

I find it interesting that when faced with condemning another of sin, the oldest left first. I once heard an elder at our church in his mid seventies say one morning, that everything that he had said that he would never do, he had gone back and done. As I get older, I can relate.

When I was young and cocky, knowing very little, I thought that I knew a lot. But as life happened, I learned what you are really capable of doing when given the chance. That sin that so easily besets us is always lurking right around the corner (Heb. 12:1). It crouches outside your door seeking entrance into your life (Gen. 4:7). I believe that as you get older and your pile of sin gets even bigger, that you become a little more understanding when people fall. Thus the oldest left first.

Face it, we have all fallen short in the sin area, and it only takes one sin to be guilty of the whole law (James 2:10). Without the forgiveness provided through the Lord Jesus, we are all lost. Most of the time people do not need you to tell them that they have fallen, they already know that better than you. They need you to help them back up.

If you are down right now, know that the Lord Jesus died for you so that you may have eternal life. The past can be wiped away with a simple prayer.

If you know someone today that has fallen, be kind. If the Lord has already forgiven them, who are we to point at their past. Help restore them, and in doing so, you may not have to walk in their shoes.

Prayer: Father I thank You so much for all that You do in my life. Help me see the lost and hurting through Your eyes. Fill me with Your compassion. Help me show mercy, as I have been shown mercy, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

Note: Good morning, it''s Christmas Eve! We pray that you all have a peaceful day as we prepare our hearts to celebrate the birth of the Christ and consider the vast love our heavenly Father has for us, the love that caused Him to send us His only Son! Blessings to each of you ~ Dion and Sylvia

Molly Miller Thank you do much for RHM !!!  I am incredibly blessed by Pastor Dion's messages, and by the opportunity to be a prayer warrior, and to show my compassion and try to help other believers along their journey to God.  We are all in the same boat!!!  Jesus was the ONLY perfect human, and by the grace of God, we are able to stand before Him , in Jesus' righteousness ! I just have a hard time wrapping my fragile human mind around that! All praise to God!!!!!!!

Kathy Banfield Well said! It made me think, too, and i realize that I was a bit more judgemental when I was younger. Age and experience has made me much more tolerant of others. I hope everyone has a blessed Christmas!

Carol Pady
Carol Pady There is no condemnation in Christ. If the Son of God is so forgiving and without condemnation, then so should I be.  Sometimes when others go out of their way to rob, steal and kill my joy, I hear Him remind me that I need to pray for them, not harbor anger toward them. It is especially difficult to do this when my children or husband come under attack. Yet when I pray for their persecutors I am enabling God to lead me and my family to victory. It seems that during this Sacred Season the persecution comes strongest. Many of my Christian friends are experiencing this right now. We know it is Satan coming against us, so we put on the full armor of God, drop to our knees and pray, pray, pray. If you are experiencing this persecution remember that , no weapon formed against us will prosper, put on the full armor of God and stand in prayer!

Deleted Member Pastor Dion, this was an amazing message this morning, as we are celebrating the Birth of Jesus and as the year is coming to an end, and a beginning of a New Year is starting that we should really all think about this in great depth. I'm not saying that we have to make a New Years Resolution, but I think we need to make a heart commitment to Jesus, of trying to be more considerate of others, whether they are a Christian or not, we should show them Christ in our lives by the way we treat them and how we talk to them and what we say about them, if we have nothing good to say about them, then we should be like Jesus, let the first one without sin, cast the first stone, because we all have sinned and only by grace are we saved, so we are to love others like Jesus loves us and without His Amazing Love and His Amazing Grace, where on where would I be? Pastor Dion you have truly blessed me today, I have seen so many people look down on others for so many different reasons and it breaks my heart to see someone hurt like that, because you never know what someone is going through and we should all be like Jesus, love them as they are and if there is anything that needs to be changed, pray for them and let Jesus do the changing. Thank you Thank You. Love and prayers and lots of hugs to you and Sylvia. I miss  y'all so much.

Scott Riegelmann Amen pastor We need more compassion in todays world, we really dont know what someone else has been thru to get them where they are now, so I think compassion would be my prayer I know as I get older Im going on 51 in jan that I get alittle softer in some ereas of my life and I dont just mean my mid section lol but in areas of judgeing someone else for something they did in haste I have more understanding today I just assumed that was part of matureing, Thank you pastor Todd for always gently reminding us whats the right thing to do and to do it with compassion. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! May God reward u justly for all your hard work in the new year, sincerely Scott R.

Iris Parlin I don't have a problem forgiving, it's the forgetting that bothers me. I can not seem to erase things from my mind. I guess I need to pray harder on that. Any suggestions would be helpful.
