Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you. Isaiah 43:1 ESV
It was almost dark and we had to ride our motorcycles through the swamp to get back home. We had done it many times, but this time it had rained a lot and we came to a place where the trail was completely flooded out. Home was on the other side and we had to go through the water to get there. I started in and could see the red sandy bottom of the stream as I started through the water. Then I saw the water turn dark and the front wheel dipped down.
Thinking it was just a dip and that it would surely come up the other side, I hit the gas. The next thing I knew I was swimming in fast running water with limbs and debris streaming past me. It was shoulder deep. The motorcycle was laying on the bottom of the creek. It was scary. I had to fish around on the bottom to find the motorcycle and drag it out. We removed the spark plug, drained the water from it and pushed for about half a mile before we got it started again, then we made it on home.
It is always scary to face a trial, but God will bring you through it and you will make it to the other side. There is no testimony without passing through the test. There is no glory without first living the story. There is no victory without a challenge. In this scripture, they went through the water, but God got them through to the other side.
No matter what you are going through today, God wants you to overcome but you will have to put on your gloves and fight if you want it. He wants you to be a winner, and if you will simply walk with Him one day at a time you will beat this thing. Home is on the other side.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I pray that you help me pass through whatever trial I may face. I trust in You and know that you have my best interest in mind, in the name of Jesus.
