Behold, there was a great earthquake, for an angel of the Lord descended from the sky, and came and rolled away the stone from the door, and sat on it. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothing white as snow. For fear of him, the guards shook, and became like dead men. The angel answered the women, 'Don't be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus, who has been crucified. He is not here, for he has risen, just like he said. Come, see the place where the Lord was lying. Matthew 28:2 WEB
Ever since Adam and Eve disobeyed God's command in the Garden of Eden, mankind had been bound in sin with no way out of it. They decided they knew what was best for them, and that maybe God was holding something back, the best for Himself. The knowledge of good and evil was something they thought they really needed and wanted, the forbidden fruit. Too bad it was poisonous, and they both died from it later.
Their sinful rebellious nature was then passed down through the generations and was only broken when Mary conceived by the Holy Spirit. Jesus went on to live a perfect, sinless life as a man. Just as one imperfect man started it, one Perfect Man finished it. It all changed on the third day when Jesus walked out of the tomb. The power of sin was broken and if satan would have known what was coming, they would have never crucified Jesus (1 Corinthians 2:8).
Jesus met all of God's requirements, lived a perfect life without sin, and then laid His life down for us at the cross. Through His sacrifice, mankind was restored to a right relationship with God. The veil in the temple was torn open making a way for us to come into the Holy of Holies, and all are welcome.
Stop looking down on yourself, and look to Jesus who paid the price. He knows your name. Do not set your value by what anyone on Earth thinks of you. Jesus gave His life to set you free. The price of that is immeasurable, and He would have done it just for you. Everything changed on the third day when Jesus walked out of the tomb.
Prayer: Heavenly Father I thank You for sending Your Son Jesus to buy us back. Teach me the things that I need to know and let me see the world through Your eyes. Please walk with me and talk with me this day, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.
Note: For those who are participating in our Creation Photographers theme of the week: Hebrews 13:2 "Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing, some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it. - 'Unexpected Guests' or 'Entertaining Angels' will be our next fun theme and is open wide for creative interpretation! My photos (in the group) reflect my blackberries and some recent guests both expected and unexpected. Not sure that skunk family was angels we were entertaining but it was for sure unexpected at our preschool The butterfly that graced my granddaughter with a visit was a wonderfully unexpected gift, and my mommy coming to visit was was fantastic too, although she was expected, lol. sounds great. I know that will be useful for me...need to write that down. Hope the Todd family have a blessed Saturday and Sunday. I do believe God gave us those 2 special days for His sake and our sake! Work hard or volunteer (myself) hard through the week. We get our rewards here on Earth and rewards in Heaven.
