But as for me, I know that my Redeemer lives. In the end, he will stand upon the earth. After my skin is destroyed, then I will see God in my flesh, whom I, even I, will see on my side. My eyes will see, and not as a stranger. Job 19:25 WEBJob is the oldest book in the Bible, except for the first te...

He went out, bearing his cross, to the place called 'The Place of a Skull', which is called in Hebrew, 'Golgotha', where they crucified him, and with him two others, on either side one, and Jesus in the middle. Pilate wrote a title also, and put it on the cross. There was written, 'JESUS OF NAZARETH...

Under His Wings

  • He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, 'He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in whom I trust.' For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler, And from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers. Under his wings you will take refuge. His faithfulness is your shield and rampart. Psalms 91:1 WEB

What if the safest place on earth, was right where you are? David Wilkerson was called by the Lord to preach to New York gang members around 1960 and he went. While under constant threat, he would visit their hideouts and witness to them. He eventually led many of the gang members, and some of the leaders, to know Jesus. This was later made into the movie 'The Cross and the Switchblade.'

In the presence of the Lord you gain strength, joy, power, refreshment, encouragement, as well as protection. We can all get somewhere quiet and through worship, prayer and patience, enter the presence of the Lord. The hard part is carrying His presence with you whenever you leave the prayer room and get into traffic. It is important to walk close to God and under His protection today.

There is an interesting story in 2 Chronicles 35:20-25. Josiah was a righteous king that lived uprightly, but when Pharaoh Neco crossed through his territory, Josiah went out to fight him. God spoke through Neco and warned Josiah that this was not his fight, but he persisted and was killed in battle. That was not God's will for Josiah, but he ignored the word of God and went anyway.

God does not force His will on you. If He did then sin would not be a problem. He would say, 'Don't do that', and we wouldn't. But it is not like that at all. He says 'Don't do that' and we do it anyway because our will overrides His when it comes to our own life. His will is a 'recommendation' and always the best path, but there are many other rabbit trails that we can follow if we choose to.

It is for us to stay underneath His wings, not Him under ours. It is not God lining up with our will, but us lining up with His that brings His joy, peace, protection and blessings into our life. As we seek His face, He takes care of us. The more that we love on Him, the more that He loves on us. There is no safer place on earth than in the presence of God for He takes full responsibility for the life totally committed to Him.

Keep seeking God. Keep the fire burning. Maintain that close relationship. Speak to God through out the day. Make Him a part of your life and your decisions. Meditate on His word. As you do, He will become more involved in your life, and in your decisions, because you took the time to ask Him.

Prayer: Father, I invite You to be a part of my life today. Walk with me, talk with me, share Your desires with me and I will share with You. I want more of You, but I need Your help. Speak to me in a way that I understand, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

Note: Good morning! FYI, we made some changes to the mobile version of the events pages, so they should be much easier to see the content. That means for those who are interested in joining the November Thanksgiving event and the FAAD chat events, the pages should make a lot more sense if you are using a phone :). ALSO, the "What''s For Dinner?" group is having a fun and fellowship discussion about Thanksgiving and the "Haven of Hope" topic of the week is about "Treating PTSD". To join in, go to the group pages and you will find them in the Discussion tab!

Mark Duell
Mark Duell Amen. What a walk David Wilkerson had with the Lord. I pray that some day I could have even a fraction of the communion with the Lord as he had. But as the devotional says, it's our will that has to be overcome and allow His to reign.

Cyndy Moore
Cyndy Moore Thank you for sharing the story of Josiah. Sometimes nonbelievers ask me why pray for healing or pray for anything since our God has already planned it all out. This story illustrates how things can change if we do not draw close to God and pray that we are in his will.

Valerie Fields WOW WOW WOW!!!!   Another amazing message :-) Thank you Pastor Dion for letting GOD use you! I was praying just this morning about a situation in my life and I clearly heard GOD say NO! But then I started to second guess if I was hearing right. I thought that maybe I should just go ahead with my idea to help me through this situation. Each morning when I get to my desk at work.... I read this devotional before I start my day.  I almost fell out of my chair when I read this!!!  GOD is clearly speaking to me....FLAT OUT!!  I hear you LORD!  The battle is not mine. I will humble myself and wait on YOU!  Have a BLESSED DAY everyone :-)

Carol Pady Amen! This life is full of opportunity to fail in following His commandments. Only through prayer and walking with Him and talking to Him daily can we find the strength to do the right thing. It's a constant battle, we only can win , when we call upon Him to help us.

Karen Pasquinelli
Karen Pasquinelliedited: November 11, 2015 Amen!  I believe that when I constantly think about God he is always there by my side, helping and protecting me. Life is so much better with God and when prayers are answered it is amazing.  Good for instance, received a letter yesterday regarding husbands hospital bill.  I had completed an application for assistance because he has no insurance.  When I saw the amount which was 173 thousand and then looked down and saw no balance due, I knew it was an answer to a prayer. I told my husband he needs to thank God because without God this bill would not have been paid in full. PRAISE GOD!!! In the past I did want I wanted to without the thought of God until I needed him and life really was not that pleasant and peaceful.

Angela Allard
Angela Allard He doesn't have to "force" anyone because He has already predestined all things and has chosen all those who are His. From the Very Begining.. For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of him who subjected it. Romans 8:20 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God. John 1:12-13 “For truly in this city there were gathered together against Your holy servant Jesus, whom You anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, along with the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel, to do whatever Your hand and Your purpose predestined to occur. Acts 4:27-28 This man was handed over to you by God's deliberate plan and foreknowledge; and you, with the help of wicked men, put Him to death by nailing him to the cross. Acts 2:23 "Have you not heard? Long ago I ordained it. In days of old I planned it; now I have brought it to pass, that you have turned fortified cities into piles of stone. Isaiah 37:26 Declaring the end from the beginning, And from ancient times things which have not been done, Saying, 'My purpose will be established, And I will accomplish all My good pleasure'. Isaiah 46:1 God turns hearts to stone and He can completely turn one to Him as He did with Paul. We are not the ones who can will or choose this, but only by His Grace does He do this, which is what He has Willed way before hand.  Therefore we also would not obey Him if His Spirit did not make it possible (Grace- Will). in whatever our heart condemns us; for God is greater than our heart and knows all things. 1 John 3:20 for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure. Philippians 2:13 He uses evil for His own good purposes just as He did the day of salvation that He has chosen give to His elect. The LORD has made everything for its own purpose, Even the wicked for the day of evil.Everyone who is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD; Assuredly, he will not be unpunished. Proverbs 16:4-5 Therefore, in the present case I advise you: Leave these men alone! Let them go! For if their purpose or activity is of human origin, it will fail. But if it is from God, you will not be able to stop these men; you will only find yourselves fighting against God."  Acts 5:38-39 "Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh; is anything too difficult for Me?" Jeremiah 32:27  "The Lord knows that the thoughts of the wise are futile." 1 Corinthians 3:20 Whatever exists has already been named, and what humanity is has been known; no one can contend with someone who is stronger. Ecclesiastics 6:10 The LORD knows all human plans; He knows that they are futile. Psalm 94:11There is no wisdom, no insight, no plan that can succeed against the LORD. Proverbs 21:30  Where we learn that God is the one “who works all things according to the counsel of His will,” Ephesians 1:11  "I know that You can do everything, And that no purpose of Yours can be withheld from You.” This view of God’s will is based on the fact that, because God is sovereign, His will can never be frustrated. Nothing happens that is beyond His control. Job 42:2 When Rebekah had conceived children by one man, our forefather Isaac, though they were not yet born and had done nothing either good or bad—in order that God’s purpose of election might continue, not because of works but because of Him who calls. Romans 9:9-10 In Him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of Him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of His will. Ephesians 1:11 It doesn't matter if we're ignorant, we are with sin.. Yet If He has chosen us He will Keep Us NO MATTER what! So not one can disobey unto death if He hasn't already WILLED it. What shall we say then? There is no injustice with God, is there? May it never be! For He says to Moses, " I Will Have Mercy On Whom I Have Mercy, AND I Will Have Compassion On Whom I Have Compassion." So then it DOES NOT DEPEND ON THE MAN WHO WILLS OR THE MAN WHO RUNS, but On GOD who has Mercy. For the Scripture says to Pharaoh, “For this very purpose I have raised you up, that I might show my power in you, and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth.” So then He has mercy on whom He desires, and He hardens whom He desires. You will say to me then, "Why does He still find fault? For WHO CAN resist HIS WILL?" On the contrary, who are you, O man, who answers back to God? The thing molded will not say to the molder, "Why did you make me like this," will it? Has the potter no right over the clay, to make out of the same lump one vessel for honorable use and another for dishonorable use?  What if God, although willing to demonstrate His wrath and to make His power known, endured with much patience vessels of wrath prepared for destruction? And He did so to make known the riches of His glory upon vessels of mercy, which He prepared beforehand for glory. Romans 9:14-23 So If He purposed one to be saved they will be. But our God is in the heavens; He does whatever He pleases. Psalm 115:3But the plans of the LORD stand firm forever, the purposes of His heart through all generations. Psalm 33:11The LORD Almighty has sworn, "Surely, as I have planned, so it will be, and as I have purposed, so it will happen.  Isaiah 14:24 And He was saying to them, "To you has been given the mystery of the kingdom of God, but those who are outside get everything in parables,so that “they may indeed see but not perceive, and may indeed hear but not understand, lest they should turn and be forgiven.” Mark 4:11-12Jesus answered them, "To you it has been granted to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been granted. Matthew 13:11 But He said to them, "Not all men can accept this statement, but only those to whom it has been given. Matthew 19:11"Who can make the clean out of the unclean? No one! "Since his days are determined, The number of his months is with You; And his limits You have set so that he cannot pass. Job 14:4-5For it is by grace you have been saved through faith, and this not from yourselves; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. Ephesians 2:8-9He has saved us and called us to a holy life--not because of anything we have done but because of His own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time. 2 Timothy 1:9Behold, the eye of the LORD is on those who fear Him, On those who hope for His lovingkindness,To deliver their soul from death And to keep them alive in famine. Psalm 33:18-19The LORD will protect you from all evil; He will keep your soul. Psalm 121:7 "And he said, 'The God of our fathers has appointed you to know His will and to see the Righteous One and to hear an utterance from His mouth. Acts 22:14 "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand. "My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand. John 10:29 that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you. John 14:17   He Knows our thoughts and all that we are going to do way before hand, So therefore if we were HIS then we will Live, but if He did not choose for us to Live, we will Not, and He does not stop that one who He knows will Disobey Him. Just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him. In love. Ephesians 1:4No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him. And I will raise him up on the last day. John 6:44  He ·made [fashions all] their hearts and understands everything they do. Psalm 33:13 You scrutinize my path and my lying down, And are intimately acquainted with all my ways.Even before there is a word on my tongue, Behold, O LORD, You know it all. Psalm 139:3-4The heart of man plans his way, but the LORD establishes his steps. Proverbs 16:9 "I, the LORD, search the heart, I test the mind, Even to give to each man according to his ways, According to the results of his deeds. Jeremiah 17:10 Grievous punishment is for him who forsakes the way; he who hates reproof will die. Sheol and Abaddon lie open before the LORD, How much more the hearts of men! Proverbs 15:10-11And they prayed and said, "You, Lord, who know the hearts of all men, show which one of these two You have chosen.. Acts 1:24 Jesus replied, "But even more blessed are all who hear the word of God and put it into practice." Luke 11:28 ..also presents evidence that God knew us before hand and had plans for us, “everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made.” Isaiah 43:7                                                          We declare God’s wisdom, a mystery that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began.” I Corinthians 2:7 Whoever says “I know Him” but does not keep His commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in Him, but whoever keeps His word, in Him truly the love of God is perfected. By this we may know that we are in Him. 1 John 2:4-5 We love, because He first loved us. 1 John 4:19 He is the only Ruler, the King of kings, and Lord of lords 1 Timothy 6:15:  The government of the entire universe is His. Deuteronomy 10:14; Psalms 135:6; Daniel 4:35. The Lord can put a restraint upon Satan as He chooses Job 1:12.He gives Satan, at times, power to do his wicked worst, but God is always in control Revelation 9:1; Revelation
