The Wonder of You from Refreshing Hope Ministries on Vimeo. Today I want to talk about the wonder of the Lord. I believe that wonder is a great definition of what it feels like to have the Holy Spirit moving in your life. It can feel almost magical, surreal, at times you may ask yourself “I...

Half Starved Lions

  • Then the king was exceedingly glad, and commanded that Daniel be taken up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no kind of harm was found on him, because he had trusted in his God. Daniel 6:23 ESV

They took Daniel to the edge of the lions' den and let him see all of the half-starved lions prowling below them. The stench drifting upwards was horrible. I am sure the soldiers stood back a little ways as they pushed him to the edge of the pit. Then with a shove Daniel was falling through the air, right into the hungry mouths below.

On the way down he could hardly believe that after serving God and the kings uncompromisingly for over eighty years, that he was now being fed to the lions. What a retirement plan this was'they sealed the pit with a stone and it became dark with the sound of panting hungry lions pacing the floor. After a long dark stress-filled night, the dawn finally came and Daniel was unharmed. He was taken out of the pit, and his enemies were thrown in and devoured.

Tomorrow will be a better day. The dawn will come and no matter how bad it looks at night you will come through it unscathed. God will deliver you from the half-starved lions. As Daniel did in his darkest hour, just continue to trust in God.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I ask that You deliver me from the enemy. Protect me and my family Lord. Right the wrongs in my life and give me a fresh vision for the future, in the name of Jesus I pray.

Note: Good morning, RHM family :)! Just a heads up here on two of our wonderful groups. The Creation Photographers group''s Theme of the Week is: HEARTS! For any who don''t know about the weekly theme, the way it works is for each member to be on the lookout for the theme object out in the world and post photos. It''s been a lovely way to be more aware of God''s wonder. You can still post any pics, but just pay attention this week for hearts and post them at the group! ALSO, the FAAD group''s topic for the week is "Finding Value in Ourselves". This topic is a key one in overcoming the obstacles we face. Be sure to check out the Discussion topic at the FAAD group, as well as sign up for the Thursday evening chat!

Carol Pady Amen! The Lord is my rock and my strength. I put on the full armor of God and He defeats the enemy!  Ephesians 6:10-18New International Version (NIV)The Armor of God   10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.   18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

Deleted Member This message was surely for me today, you know it touched exactly where I've been, fearful, worried about this weeks surgery and feeling overwhelmed, feeling on edge, due to being put to sleep for the surgery, but today even as Daniel was saved from the hungry mouths of the lions, I feel now that Jesus will save me from my fears, and He will give me peace throught this surgery and a speedy healing, I will come out of the lion's den of fear, through God's grace. God bless you for this message today. Love you and Sylvia.

Karen Pasquinelli
Karen Pasquinelli Prayers sent for you Tamara.  I had a total hysterectomy 2 years ago at the age of 68 and had never had surgery in my life before.  I had never been put under, but I just kept praying and told my family if I see the light I am not coming back (lol), I didn't see a light so here I am.  Anyway what I am trying to say is that all I thought of that day before I went under was Jesus and I felt no fear.  It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be and after I went under the next thing I remember was waking up in recovery.  Jesus did remove my fear.  It wasn't an overnight stay so in order for me to be able to go home without a catheter I had to go 200cc's which I had been unable to do after surgery.  Well when the nurse brought in that thing (the catheter was my biggest fear) I said let me try one more time, as I sat on the toilet I prayed so hard to go another 50cc's which is what was needed and low and behold it ended up 200cc's at once.   I hope my crazy experience helps you.  There is so much power in prayer and Jesus is with you always, just take him with you.

Rick Doran This message is timed perfectly. My Wife lost her job due to the chronic migraines she's been having. The devil has been putting gloom and doom thoughts in my head. I know better, God has been there every step of the way. He has NEVER let us walk alone through all of these landlines of life.  God is Good, All the time.

Kathy Banfield Rick, I will be praying for you and your wife. I lost my job as an RN back in 2008, and it's really true that when God closes one door, another opens. I didn't think I'd survive and boy did that sneaky devil try to snare me with lies and judgements, too! But Jesus promised He'd never leave or forsake us.That's all we ever need to know.Satan has been defeated! May God be with you both and keep you strong!
