Hezekiah received the letter from the hand of the messengers, and read it; and Hezekiah went up to the house of Yahweh, and spread it before Yahweh. Hezekiah prayed before Yahweh, and said, Yahweh, the God of Israel, who sit above the cherubim, you are the God, even you alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth; you have made heaven and earth. 2 Kings 19:14 WEB
Hopelessly, Hezekiah looked over the city wall at the giant army. The city of Jerusalem was now surrounded by the same enemy who had destroyed all of the cities around them. Then Hezekiah the king turned to God. He took the threatening letter that Sennacherib had written them and spread it out before the Lord. He prayed and poured out his heart to God, and God changed his circumstances.
That night an angel of the Lord went out and put to death 185,000 soldiers in the Assyrian army (2Kings 19:35). They did not shoot an arrow at the city. All of the panic was for naught other than it encouraged them to seek the Lord more seriously. Their enemy became a profitable treasure hunt as they spent days looting all the supplies. A very bad situation, was turned into a good one.
When you need help, the one to turn to is God. He alone is able to turn the tide in your favor. No one can stop His hand, no one can close the door that He opens. Others may let you down, He will not. When God is with you, who can stand against you? He is God alone and there is no other.
Prayer: Father I look to You today. Deliver me Lord from the hand of my enemies. Set me free and turn the bad situation into a good one, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.
Note: Good morning, Sylvia here :). The newest Bible Study is now up, covering Luke Chapter 21. Lots of interesting content about the end times there, which should be of special interest this month, so do check it out. If nothing else, if the Bible Study has been useful to you, post a little encouragement to Dion so he knows that his efforts are worthwhile to you :).
