As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desir...

He entered into one of the boats, which was Simon's, and asked him to put out a little from the land. He sat down and taught the multitudes from the boat. When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, 'Put out into the deep, and let down your nets for a catch.' Simon answered him, 'Master, we wor...

He told them this parable. 'Which of you men, if you had one hundred sheep, and lost one of them, wouldn't leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one that was lost, until he found it?' Luke 15:3 WEBWhen I first got serious about serving the Lord Jesus, I was a musician and played ...

Plunder Hell And Populate Heaven

  • But you, beloved, keep building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit. Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life. On some have compassion, making a distinction, and some save, snatching them out of the fire with fear, hating even the clothing stained by the flesh. Jude 1:20 WEB

There were seasons of my life when I made no impact for the Lord at all. I was too busy and caught up in every day life, just paying the bills. Sure I would pray, but not very hard, and overall lived a powerless life that did not have much of an affect on anyone. I was just trying to survive.

Another season I spent face time on carpet praying and fasting and soon became a firebrand for the Lord. As scripture states 'He makes his messengers winds; His servants flames of fire' (Psalms 104:4). Soon when I went to church, I would fill my entire row with visitors. The pastor loved me.

Instead of speaking empty words, my words had power and sometimes just saying a simple scripture to encourage someone would cause them to start trembling. People would come up to me and say, 'I want what you have'. When you get serious with prayer, things happen.

A key point of this scripture is to build yourself first by praying, and keeping yourselves in the love walk. Then you can be a powerful witness to others and not be tempted to do the same thing. I have seen people that were recovering addicts trying to help another addict, only to fall back into it themselves. It is a dangerous line of work, and you need to be prayed up beforehand. When you are in the fire, you better already be prepared.

Also the power of your testimony directly depends on your lifestyle. Actions speak louder than words. I was recently witnessing to a relative about the beautiful things that God has in store for him down one path. I then spoke of the destruction that lies at the end of the other path, called drugs. Some family members had tried to witness to him, but they did drugs themselves and he said their words meant nothing. When I spoke, he was convicted.

The world is growing darker around us. Fear is growing and the masses are becoming scared. The fields are becoming ready to harvest but the workers are few. This is the time to press into God and get your assignment. No one can reach everyone, but everyone can reach someone.

It is time to plunder hell and populate heaven. Soon the world will be seeking a ray of hope and those following Jesus will be carrying it. This is a wonderful time to be alive. Let us make our lives count for Jesus and work with Him in this harvest.

Prayer: Father, I ask that You draw me in a special way. Fire me up God. Put Your words in my mouth and I will speak them. Open the door and I will step through it. May Your will be done in my life just as it is in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

Kathy Banfield
Kathy Banfield I believe the Holy Spirit gives us the words we need at the proper time; we don't need to rehearse our lines. At least, that's been true in my experience. God is so good! And I hope I can manage to stay awake tonight to attend the chat! I really wanted to do so last week, but ended up conking out on the sofa!

Chris Dibbern
Chris Dibbern Yesterday, as I was driving back from a hiking vacation in the Smokeys, there was someone on the radio talking about how, in China, the situation completely disagrees with their eastern religions. Apparently, their religions say the Golden Age was yesterday, and the world is getting progressively worse. However, many academics and other thinkers in China see the world getting progressively better, and apparently that has caused many to convert and become Christian. You say, "the world is growing darker," and it took me some thinking before I agreed with both you, and the radio guy. God loves to put contradictions in our paths to call our attention to where thinking is warranted. :-) I believe the world is, in some respects, getting better. In less than a decade, cars that drive themselves will be common. We're tackling pollution, and renewable resources and energy, and becoming better stewards. Much of the world has become educated, and more discerning. The world is not "fixed"--I am not so naive as to believe everyone can read or even eat--but think about the days when Bibles were scarce. Yet, for some, these modern comforts without God lead to fear (and rightly so). It's like being in a high place, constantly worrying about falling. We plaster security cameras everywhere, and forbid letter openers on airplanes. Affluence breeds spiritual poverty, which, in turn, makes the world darker.Thank you for the contradiction. :-)

Shelby Casey
Shelby Casey Thank you Lord each day for your Word and for your Word made Flesh in Jesus Christ our Lord. It is important for us to be good witnesses to your Word and to how your Word is working in our lives. We are imperfect people but you can cover our imperfections or accent them for your purposes Lord. You are amazing Lord. I always thought that inorder to point others in your direction Lord, I had to be perfect, and my life had to be perfect but you have used my lowest, lows and my biggest flaws to point others to you. This just confirms for me Lord that you can use anything as long as we lay it down at your feet. Continue to use all that I am Lord all along this journey called life. In Jesus name we pray Amen. Pastor Dion I read your devotion from yesterday (as I do when I cannot get online) when I have heard God speak to me and have gone in another direciton it was because I knew better than God. I wonder if Jonah knowing that Ninavah was not going to be receptive said, I am not getting involved in that, I know better God. When we do that God may bless us with another opportunity to listen or we may reap the consequences of our disobedence or both but no matter if we are given another opportunity or go through the consequences, it is all for our good because God loves us.
