The Vineyard from Refreshing Hope Ministries on Vimeo. I have always admired Amos, who was a shepherd in a field when the Lord told him to go and prophesy to King Jeroboam in Bethel. The priest Amaziah told him to prophesy somewhere else. They weren't interested in what the Lord had to say, but A...

for a righteous man falls seven times and rises up again, but the wicked are overthrown by calamity. Proverbs 24:16 WEB.Once again, I was the one who promised he would never do it again, then went and did it again. I had slowly drifted away one more time. I have found that it's easy to make promises...

Then Satan answered Yahweh, and said, "Does Job fear God for nothing? Haven't you made a hedge around him, and around his house, and around all that he has, on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land. But put forth your hand now, and touch all t...

The End Of The Line

  • All the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron. The whole congregation said to them, "We wish that we had died in the land of Egypt, or that we had died in this wilderness! Why does Yahweh bring us to this land, to fall by the sword? Our wives and our little ones will be captured or killed! Wouldn't it be better for us to return into Egypt?" They said to one another, "Let's choose a leader, and let's return into Egypt." Numbers 14:2'4 WEB.

The Israelites were standing on the border of the land God had promised to give them. He had done great signs and wonders in their lives. He had delivered them from their slavery in Egypt. Now, when so close to a major breakthrough, they stubbornly refused to take the next step.

They wanted to kill Moses, appoint a new leader, and return to their slavery in Egypt. They would do anything except what God asked them to do, but now they had reached the end of the line and would go no further. All but Joshua and Caleb died there in the wilderness. Then, the Lord took their children into the land.

I have seen many people get stalled in life because they couldn't take that next step. While standing on the border of their own promised land, they were too terrified or stubborn to do what God asked them. So they just sat there and slowly died.

Some of us should have left that place fifteen years ago, but we couldn't let go. Some Pastors in churches should have moved on years ago, but they sit there fossilized. God had something better, but He will not make you obey Him. When you know what to do but refuse to take the next step, He will let you die off and use your children.

You can break the cycle. Choose to obey the Lord's prompting. It's for your own good. Though it looks short-term scary, it will have long-term benefits. So pray hard and take the risk. If you feel you have been left behind and are no longer where you should be, repent, get back up, and take the next step. God will restore you and put you back on track.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, please give me the grace to follow you wherever you call me. Help me face any obstacle and stay in step with You. Let me be the one who enters the promised land and never retreats. In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen!

Note: Happy Sunday! All are invited to join us this morning for our RHM Live Online church service. This is a special time of worship, prayer, fellowship and an inspiring message. All are welcome! Here is the link to join: RHM Live
