The Power is in His Presence

Posted by Dion Todd December 2nd, 2016 12,696 Views 0 Comments

Moses said to Yahweh, 'Behold, you tell me, 'Bring up this people:' and you haven't let me know whom you will send with me. Yet you have said, 'I know you by name, and you have also found favor in my sight.' Now therefore, if I have found favor in your sight, please show me now your ways, that I may know you, so that I may find favor in your sight: and consider that this nation is your people.' He said, 'My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.' He said to him, 'If your presence doesn't go with me, don't carry us up from here.' Exodus 33:12 WEB

When the Lord started sending me computer networks to maintain in the late 80s, I had no clue as to what I was doing, and there was no Internet as we know it to research with. There was also no one in my area that worked on them and I was on my own, except for His presence. Time after time, day after day, this farm boy would just pray all the way to the site, fix it almost magically and leave with them thinking that I was brilliant. It was entirely the Lord's presence. You can do anything that He calls you to do, if you will just step out and try.

Moses did not want to leave without God's presence going with him. When God was with him, he was all powerful. Without him, he was nothing. Gideon led an army of three-hundred men against a giant army (Judges 7:12) because the Lord was with him. David killed Goliath while the rest of the army watched on in fear (1 Samuel 17:49). He was willing, and that is all that God needed. He doesn't need your abilities, He needs a willing heart. God will equip the one that has the heart to step out with the abilities.

I know that some will quote, 'He will never leave nor forsake you' and that is true, but that is not what I am talking about. You can enter into the presence of God in a special way through prayer and ask for His help. Even Jesus had special times when the power of God was present to heal (Luke 5:17). Though His life was planned out long ago (Isaiah 52:13), Jesus sometimes spent all night in prayer to bring it to pass (Luke 6:12). Our prayer matters. Do not assume that it will just happen. I love it when it does, but your sincere prayer is a major part of your breakthrough.

Don't try and make it happen on your own. Invite the Lord's presence into your problems and watch them dissolve. Just be honest: 'Lord, I cannot do this without you! Please come with me and give me the grace to do this in Jesus' name.' When His Presence is there, you can do anything that He calls you to do.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I need You today. Please come and cover with me with Your presence. I need Your help Lord. Teach me what I need to know. Help me to see the big picture, and flood my life with Your presence for I cannot do this without You, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

Site update #586: I completed a large update to the Audio Library on the left sidebar. There is now a live service archive of all past services, full-length in case you miss a service and want to catch up, as well as all of our original music. You can download the .mp3 files directly to your device now to listen when you don't have internet. I also added a pop-out player so you can listen without remaining on the page. Give it a try and let me know if you have any problems. 😀

What a blessing, Pastor Dion! The audio library page is easy to navigate and I truly appreciate the pop-out player, as I have many tabs open during my computer sessions and this allows me to keep the music flowing. Well done! 😊🎶

sounds great. I know that will be useful for me...need to write that down. Hope the Todd family have a blessed Saturday and Sunday. I do believe God gave us those 2 special days for His sake and our sake! Work hard or volunteer (myself) hard through the week. We get our rewards here on Earth and rewards in Heaven.
