For the vision is yet for the appointed time, and it hurries toward the end, and won't prove false. Though it takes time, wait for it; because it will surely come. It won't delay. Habakkuk 2:3 WEB.About thirty-five years ago, the Lord gave me a word that I would pioneer new things in ministry and fo...

The king talked with them; and among them all was found no one like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah. Therefore stood they before the king. In every matter of wisdom and understanding concerning which the king inquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and enchante...

If you died with Christ from the elements of the world, why, as though living in the world, do you subject yourselves to ordinances, "Don't handle, nor taste, nor touch" (all of which perish with use), according to the precepts and doctrines of men? These things indeed appear like wisdom in self-imp...

The Cattle Drive

  • Moses said to the people, "Don't be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of Yahweh, which he will work for you today: for the Egyptians whom you have seen today, you shall never see them again. Yahweh will fight for you, and you shall be still." Yahweh said to Moses, "Why do you cry to me? Speak to the children of Israel, that they go forward." Exodus 14:13'15 WEB.

Moses and the Israelite people stood on the river bank with the Egyptian army closing in on them. Moses had just finished a great faith-filled speech about resisting fear. He had told the people that the enemy you see today, you will never see again. Then in the following verse, the Lord asked him: "Why do you cry to Me? Tell the people to go forward."

Sometimes we can become paralyzed, waiting to know the will of God when we really need to get moving. Oh yes, we need to pray and listen, but do we really need seven confirmations before we get started? A car can only be steered while moving, and a boat can't be navigated while sitting at anchor. Often the Lord will speak to us after we start the journey. If you miss Him, He will find you, for the Shepherd goes after the lost sheep.

"By faith, Abraham, when he was called, obeyed to go out to the place which he was to receive for an inheritance. He went out, not knowing where he went." (Hebrews 11:8 WEB).

In our life, we often find that a word from God comes to correct our course much as they do on a cattle drive. As long as the herd is moving in the right direction, little has to be said. The word comes to us when we start to get off course, come to an intersection, or to bring encouragement during a difficult part of the journey.

Looking back over my life, I have sometimes felt like I was being herded through a loading chute with no door on either side. In fact, I prefer it when the Lord does it that way, for it keeps my decisions simple. Put Him first in your life, let your journey begin, and let Him correct your course as needed.

As long as we are walking the correct path, it's often pretty quiet. Isaiah 30:21 reads, "And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, This is the way, walk you in it; when you turn to the right hand, and when you turn to the left." A word of correction comes when you turn from His path, and I say that from experience.

Also, you stay with the last word given until a new one comes. Even things that I felt strongly about which seemed to fail still worked out for our good, if for no more than education. So don't become paralyzed by fear and anxiety because you feel that you may miss "God's Will." He will catch you if you fall.

If you have a problem determining His will, how do you know this isn't it? That idea that keeps returning could very well be Him trying to guide you. It's often easier to follow the voice of God than you think. All that it takes is putting Him first in your life, and then He will bring the course corrections as they are needed one day at a time.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I choose to put You first in my life. I submit to Your will. Please guide me today, and put me where I need to be. Help me become the very best version of myself and to shine Your light on this earth. In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen!

Father God, please help me to hear your still small voice clearly and know that it is you. Lord I have heard your voice in the past 43 years and I am beginning to know beyond a shadow of a doubt that it is indeed You speaking to me. You are so loving and Kind to me and you have brought me through difficult times. Thank you for sending someeone to me when I was seeking you with all my heart when I was 17. The Bible says that when we seek You will all of our hearts that we will find you and that day I found you when I was only 17 years old dealing with some very difficult situations in my life. From that day forward I know your voice and I listen for it. You have been so so good to me and I dont deserve your love or kindness but still you tell me that you love me.It is in the name of Jesus, my Lord and my Saviour I ask and pray this, Amen!
