When the Philistine arose, and walked and came near to meet David, David hurried and ran toward the army to meet the Philistine. David put his hand in his bag, took a stone and slung it, and struck the Philistine in his forehead. The stone sank into his forehead, and he fell on his face to the earth. 1 Samuel 17:48-49 WEB.My computers were often like Dr. Frankenstein's monster and built from parts of others. Working on computers became a hobby of mine, and I loved to tinker with them at night in the garage. I housed my first computer in a cardboard box because I had no case and made little cut-outs for the dual floppy drives. My workbench had spare parts all over it, and I assembled them in various configurations in the elusive pursuit of speed.
Computers were still rare in those days, and there weren't many technicians in our area to call. Everything was done from a command prompt. This was before Windows and the giant network we call the Internet today.
One day, an accounting firm got my phone number from someone and called me out of desperation. Their client database containing all their past tax returns had become corrupted. I was scared when their call came in. I grew up on a farm, had no formal computer education, and knew nothing about networked databases. I was about to say, "I can't help you," when the Holy Spirit whispered, "Go, and I'll go with you."
I prayed all the way there, sat down at the computer clueless, and fixed it in a few minutes. They thought I was a genius. This type of work became common. Before long, I was making five to seven service calls a day just like that. Seemingly impossible tasks became trivial. Sometimes when I simply touched the keyboard, the computer would be fixed.
My secret was that I prayed a lot. I prayed everywhere I went. The Lord opened the doors, and I would go where He sent me, praying all the way. For the next twenty years, we worked together just like that. We still do.
But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. (James 1:5 WEB).
You see, young David slung the rock, but the Lord made him successful. The giant Goliath intimidated the entire Israeli army until one teenager stepped out and killed him with a stone.
When God opens the door, step through it. Don't let your fear, education, or anything else hold you back from what He has in store. When He gives you a job, He will also give you the gifts and abilities to accomplish it. So go, and God will go with you. You can face the giant if you don't let fear hold you back.

Amen and Amen!!! I've learned through the years that God, when He closes a door will open a window or open another door often taken us out of our comfort zone, He's become my Lord, in whom I trust and put my confidence, even though there may be periods of waiting in between!! He is my shepherd and leads me, and my life has been nothing but a weaving between my Lord and me, praise His Holy Name!!! (h5)
Amen
