Mark 6:56 WEB.My friend had mixed emotions of fear, conviction, and uncertainty as we knelt down to pray together. At that moment, He questioned whether Jesus was even real. He didn't attend church but knew I was attending bible college and was curious why. We played music together over several months and became good friends.
What we did have in common was that most weekends, we were playing in a bar together. I had prayed about leaving the band and even had the pastor pray with me, but the Lord had told me to stay. Ultimately, it paid my way through school, and some people got saved along the way.
I was just one of the band members, but I guess they watched and listened. Your actions influence those around you far more than your words. Finally, after a spontaneous sermon in the parking lot of a bar one night, my friend broke down in tears and said: "Dion, you're different from the others. I want what you have."
So we knelt down and prayed together, and He met Jesus. When we came up from our knees, he had a glow about him and a smile from ear to ear. His doubts were gone. He was touched by the Lord Jesus and never the same.
The touch of the Master can melt the hardest of hearts, but you have to initiate it. You have to reach out to Him. The Lord is a gentleman and won't force His way into your busy schedule. Yet, He is always near us. So stop for a moment, and invite Him to be a part of your life. If you don't know Him, start your relationship with: "Lord Jesus, please save me." The rest will come from the Master's touch.
Prayer: Dear Jesus, please come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior. Forgive me of my past, and guide me from this day forth. I want to have a relationship with You! I surrender to You, Lord. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit, and work Your perfect will in my life. In Your name, I pray.
