August Newsletter - 2016

Hello there,

Thank you for reading our devotional and being a part of Refreshing Hope Ministries. This is our monthly update on what has been happening here during the last month and I thank you for taking time to read it.

Sylvia and I spent the month of August fasting and praying for fresh direction in RHM. We prefer to fast in the hotter months because it is yucky to be cold and hungry for extended periods. Today is the 31st and I am a happy man. We have a dream of chocolate fondu that is going to become a reality soon.

Guideposts has invited us to speak at their national conference in Scottsdale Arizona this November and we will be adding a new booklet from them on the website soon called: “Living Longer, Living Better”. We will let you know when it is live.

Technically and spiritually it has been a busy month at RHM. We have an old Dell 2950 backup server in our office that we are working to replace with a much quieter and cooler NAS setup. The current one heats the entire room and the noise level makes it difficult to hear anything, though we sit only four feet apart from one another. As we work with more and more videos, storage space is becoming a factor.

We have been adding video teachings to refreshinghope.org. Click “Watch” on the main menu. We just completed a video teaching series on “When you pray (Talk to Me)”, “When you fast (Fasting: A lost art of the church”, and “When you give (Giving: The key to the cell door)”.

We will be working on a new video teaching series covering the Holy Spirit over the next few weeks. The first one is titled “Who is The Holy Spirit?” and is on the website now. We will be covering the baptism of the Holy Spirit and Spiritual gifts in the coming weeks, Lord willing.

We are working on improving the live streaming and getting it to be more compatible with all the devices out there today. Pray for us! We will testing something new this coming Sunday using our own chat room. You will need a website account at www.refreshinghope.org to participate.

I am working on completing my next book, “Forty Days of Love”. It will be a forty day devotional based on God’s love for us and I hope to have it completed soon.

Online Church News: www.refreshinghope.org - We have grown to 3,407 members and 15,071 friendships. We have had 124 prayer requests and sent 378 replies to them. A big thanks to our ministry team.

The Refreshing Hope live meetings are happening each Sunday morning at 11 AM Eastern Time. The attendance usually runs between 30 to 50 people. For those that cannot attend, the messages are recorded and placed on the website at refreshinghope.org. Click “Watch” on the top menu. Many thanks to all those who have been participating in the live meetings. It has been an experience and the whole group, praying together for each other is great.

New things added:

The Healthful Living group’s August event was “A Month of Fasting”, focused on building spiritual health and helping our members to achieve life breakthroughs through fasting. In the same vein, each week the Spiritually Single group hosts a “Fast & Pray Friday” to contend for loved ones who are not yet in the family of Christ. We are so blessed by the daily love that all of our group leaders bring to RHM!
